Dear St. Isidore Parishioners,
I once again look forward to making this Holy Week journey with you in
a different experience. Salvation is ours, but we still struggle in this life to be rid
of sin and to do good. We will always have this struggle our entire lives. Our love
of God and our neighbor is a choice, and a choice is no choice if we are not free
to make it. In our fallen nature, we struggle with making the right choices.
Scripture tells us that we are all sinners and our sins always affect others and us
negatively. Sin produces our struggle in this life, whether it be ours or the sins of
others that affect us, directly or indirectly. We need Jesus’ gift of redemption and
salvation.
During this TRIDUUM, which means three days, to commemorate the
essential elements of our salvation: Christ’s sacrifice, his burial and his
resurrection, as a whole signifies Christ’s love made manifest in the Eucharist
and in the sacrifice at Calvary.
We have many activities to help with our prayer, our relationship with
God. We hope that these activities can help all of us grow closer to Jesus during
this season so that we can celebrate the joy of Easter more deeply. In recognizing
our own sinfulness, we better understand the gift of the life and death of our
Savior, so that in His resurrection we can appreciate the gift of eternal life despite
our unworthiness. Let us then be more open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit
to live better lives.

Estimados Feligreses de San Isidro;
Una vez más les comparto mi deseo de guiarlos a tener una
experiencia diferente esta Semana Santa. La salvación es nuestra, pero
seguimos en la lucha en esta vida de ser libres del pecado y hacer el bien.
Estaremos en esta lucha toda la vida. Nuestro amor a Dios y al prójimo es una
opción, y una opción no es opción si no somos libres de tomar esta decisión.
En nuestra debilidad, luchamos con tomar las decisiones correctas. La
Escritura nos dice que todos somos pecadores y nuestros pecados siempre nos
afectan y afectan a los demás negativamente. El pecado produce esta lucha en
nuestra vida. Nuestros pecados o los pecados de los demás nos afectan,
directa o indirectamente. Necesitamos el don de la redención y la salvación por
parte de Jesús.
Durante este Triduo Pascual, lo que significa tres días,
conmemoraremos los elementos esenciales de nuestra salvación: el sacrificio
de Cristo, su muerte y su resurrección, los cuales juntos significan el amor de
Cristo manifestado en la Eucaristía y en el sacrificio en el Calvario.
Tenemos muchas actividades para ayudar con nuestra oración y
nuestra relación con Dios. Esperamos que estas actividades puedan ayudarles
a acercarse más a Jesús durante esta temporada para que podamos celebrar
la alegría de la Pascua más profundamente. Reconociendo nuestra propia
pecaminocidad, comprendemos mejor el regalo de la vida y la muerte de
nuestro Salvador, para que en su resurrección podamos apreciar el regalo de la
vida eterna a pesar de nuestra indignidad. Asi pues, dispongámonos a estar
más abiertos a las inspiraciones del Espíritu Santo para vivir una vida mejor.
