Hello families! Welcome to another great week. Don’t forget take home Tuesday­ check red folders every week and return. Our first KCC meeting is Tuesday at 3:45. Please come by if you can and join this amazing group that helps our school in so many ways, we appreciate all that they do! School pictures are September 18th. Our jog­a­thon is September 25th, our main fundraising goal this year is to replace the bridge on the playground. Don’t forget the Bookworm Reading club! We are including another copy of the tracker, we have already had some students earn their first level! This continues all year, so keep reading. Please make sure to have your parents sign off on minutes read. We will have our jobs program for 4th and 5th graders again this year. This is a great chance to show leadership and ownership in your school. There are applications and descriptions of each job, along with the “pay” listed (caught yas) for each week, at the office.. We are also continuing our self monitor program. Students in all grades have the opportunity to demonstrate that they are self­monitors, and have their application signed off by all their teachers and staff. They earn a self monitor badge and special privileges. Congratulations Summer Scholars! We took the opportunity to recognize these hard workers at our first week assembly, by posting their names on our wall of fame, and by celebrating Friday with ice cream. This is a ton of work to support academic skills and we are so proud of all of you that completed that challenge. Are you a new volunteer? Come to our volunteer orientation September 11th at 10 AM, learn the ropes in the office and workroom and have a chance to go over volunteer policies. If you can’t make that time let us know and we will schedule around you. If you haven’t completed your volunteer form online please do so, this allows you to not only volunteer but participate in field trips, class parties.
