PRAYER FOR GENEROSITY by ST. IGNATIUS
Lord, teach me to be generous. Teach me to serve you as you deserve. To give and not to count the cost, To fight and not to heed
the wounds, To toil and not to seek for rest, To labor and not to seek reward, Save that of knowing that I do your will. AMEN

May is National High Blood Pressure Education Month
Uncontrolled high blood pressure is a leading cause of heart
disease and stroke. Today, about 70 million adults in the
United States are living with high blood pressure. To
recognize National Blood Pressure Education Month the CDC
encourages everyone to do one thing to reduce their blood
pressure.
Did you know, there are 5 things you can do to lower your
pressure?
arterial.
1. Know your numbers – know what your blood pressure
numbers mean. Work with your doctor to lower your blood
pressure.
Aumenta frutas y verduras.
2. Eat right – a diet with excessive sodium can raise your
blood pressure. Increase fruits and vegetables.
3. Stay Active – people who are more active have lower heart
rates, which can help reduce high blood pressure. Adults
should be active at least 30 minutes a day for 5 days a week.
4. Reduce Stress – Many respond to stressful situations by
eating more, getting less exercise, drinking, or smoking. A
stressful situation can also increase blood pressure for a short
period of time. Look for healthy ways—like walking—to help
you deal with stress.
5. Take Medication – follow your doctor’s orders. Take your
medication at the same time each day – don’t skip your doses.
WHAT WILL YOU DO TO LOWER YOUR BLOOD
PRESSURE?
