He meets a Samaritan woman, who expects him to treat her like dirt. But surprise! He talks to her like a fellow human being, treats her with respect and interest. And what happens? Why, pretty soon the whole town turns out to hear him. Centuries earlier, the Israelites, wandering in the desert, were thirsty. They had no water. All they had was an attitude problem. They growled at Moses, “Why did you ever make us leave Egypt?” But surprise! God gave them water from the rock. No questions asked. All the peoples of Earth are travelers on this planet together, all thirsting, all harboring our own fearful expectations of each other. But God, as a loving parent, treats us all with generous care and compassion. We are one family. We could surprise each other. We could remember we are one. No tenían agua. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co. 3 2014 ADA APPEAL Dear MHT Parishioners, Queridos feligreses de MHT, We sincerely thank all of those who have so generously supported our Parish and our local Church through the 2014 Annual Diocesan Appeal. A gift on your behalf benefits not only the least brothers and sisters but also ourselves. To date, 11% of our parishioners have pledged or contributed a total amount of $111,774 towards our goal of $168,579. We are very grateful for the support of all our parishioners who have been so generous. This is our once-a-year opportunity to show the Diocese our support—and we have all shown a great participation. Again, thank you so much for your help in this most important parish-wide endeavor by faithfully walking with Christ and listening to His call to share your gifts to others. The Jesuits and MHT Finance Council Los jesuitas y el Consejo de Finanzas MHT ATTENTION! Tithing symbolizes and helps express our commitment to Christ and the Church. IGNATIUS Teach me to be generous. Teach me to serve you as you deserve. To give and not to count the cost, To fight and not to heed the wounds, To toil and not to seek for rest, To labor and not to seek4reward, Save that of knowing that I do your will. Most Holy Trinity Preschool Thank you to all of the wonderful parishioners who have supported our preschool since opening in August of 2012. We are about halfway through our second year and we could not be more proud of what these young children are now able to accomplish. We are now working on our plan to expand the preschool from a maximum of 14 students at any time to 28 students at any time. We are starting the project in February to update the outside of the preschool to meet all of the necessary conditions given by the city. Dear Parishioners of Most Holy Trinity Parish, May the Lord be with you on this Third Sunday in the season of Lent. We at Most Holy Trinity School are truly enjoying coming together as a community in Christ during this time, and we hope you and your families feel the same. The rest of the project is going to be worked on over the summer. We are working on raising $85,000 over the next few months so that we can complete the project. We are hoping that parishioners will be able to come out to our fund raising events, such as the first bingo of every month, to help support the preschool project. We have continued partaking in the tradition of the Stations of the Cross on Fridays in our Lenten families. It has been truly special for all our students from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade to meet in the church and walk through the suffering of Christ together. We are beginning the enrollment process for the 2014-2015 school year. If you are interested in Most Holy Trinity Preschool please feel free to contact Jessica Roberts at (408) 929-2287. We also participate in an act of service with our Lenten families each week. Most recently, the students crafted beautiful bookmarks to send to inmates in prison. The second graders at Most Holy Trinity School had an incredibly special experience this week. On Tuesday afternoon, they met with the parish priests and celebrated the sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. Thank you for your continual support! Most Holy Trinity Preschool LIC# 434412400 2033 Nassau Drive, San Jose, CA 95122 408-929-2287 Second grade teacher Miss Jordan Micek has spent the past six weeks preparing the students for the sacrament by teaching them to recognize what sins are and how to ask for God's forgiveness for those sins and assistance in avoiding future sins. The students have also worked hard to memorize and understand the Act of Contrition they recited. We at the school have also been preparing for our annual Casino Night fundraiser. We have lined up several exciting auction items, including a sailing adventure on the San Francisco Bay, tickets to San Francisco Giants and Oakland A's games, and condo rentals in Kauai, Lake Tahoe and Palm Desert. All are welcome to join us for a night of food, drink, and games in support of our wonderful school! Mrs. Dorothy Suarez Most Holy Trinity Catholic School, is a K-8 grade school.
