I greet you on Laetare Sunday, marking the halfway point of
our Lenten journey. It’s translation from the Latin is “joyful.”
Once I heard someone who knows some things about
evangelization say that if there are no baptisms on Holy
Saturday, your church has not done its job to spread the
Gospel that year. Rejoice with me as God has truly blessed us
with the presence of __27____ men, women and children who
are preparing themselves for the Sacraments of Initiation
(Baptism, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation) at the Easter
Vigil. Their presence among is a clear sign that the Spirit is
alive and well here at MHT. Let us hold them and many
others preparing for their remaining Sacraments of Initiation in
our thoughts and prayers these days.
Les saludo en Domingo Laetare, donde se marca el punto
medio de nuestra jornada de Cuaresma. Es una traducción del
Latín que significa “gozoso.” Una vez escuche a alguien que
sabía algunas cosas sobre evangelización y decía que si no
había bautizos el Sábado de Gloria, tu Iglesia no estaba
haciendo el trabajo de proclamar el Evangelio ese ano.
Alégrense conmigo porque Dios nos ha bendecido
verdaderamente con la presencia de 27 hombres y mujeres y
niños que se han estado preparando para los Sacramentos de
Iniciación (Bautismo, Confirmación y Eucaristía) en la Vigilia
Pascual. Su presencia entre nosotros es una señal muy clara
que el Espíritu está vivo y viven aquí en Santísima Trinidad.
Tengámoslos a ellos y a otros muchos que se están preparando
por los Sacramentos de Iniciación que les faltan en nuestras
oraciones y nuestros pensamientos durante estos días.
Today at Mass you will hear a presentation about the Saint
Vincent DePaul Society which we will be initiating soon here
at MHT. A local SVDP parish chapter has its own spiritual
formation, takes care of the needs of the poor among us, and is
lay run. My desire is that they will join forces with our Pantry
ministry which has been very active for many years. This is in
direct response to the request of Pope Francis that we care for
those on the margins of our society, especially those who are
considered to be disposable. Please consider offering your
services to this endeavor.

Hoy en Misa van a escuchar una presentación acerca de la
Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul la cual dará inicio muy pronto
aquí en Santísima Trinidad. El Capitulo de la Sociedad local
de SVDP tiene su propia formación espiritual, se encarga de
las necesidades de los pobres de entre nosotros, y es
administrado por laicos. Mi deseo es que unan esfuerzos con el
ministerio del Pantry el cual ha estado muy activo por muchos
años. Esto es una respuesta directa al pedido del Papa
Francisco de que debemos cuidar por aquellos que se
encuentran en los márgenes de nuestra sociedad, especialmente
aquellos que se les considera desechables. Les pido de favor
que consideren ofrecer sus servicios en este ministerio. Siéntase

On a final note on Monday I will be celebrating my 35th
anniversary of ordination. I was ordained in San Francisco at
St. Mary Cathedral by Bishop Frank Quinn. My ministry has
taken me many places and I am delighted to say that I would
not change a minute of the experience and the graces God has
given me to serve his people.

Most Holy Trinity Preschool
Thank you to all of the wonderful parishioners who have
supported our preschool since opening in August of 2012. We
are about halfway through our second year and we could not
be more proud of what these young children are now able to
accomplish.
We are now working on our plan to expand the preschool from
a maximum of 14 students at any time to 28 students at any
time. We are starting the project in February to update the
outside of the preschool to meet all of the necessary conditions
given by the city.
Dear Parishioners of Most Holy Trinity Parish,
I hope the season of Lent continues to be a time of spiritual renewal and
growing closer to God for you and your families.
At Most Holy Trinity School, we have continued walking through the
Stations of the Cross each Friday in our Lenten families. But lately, we
have put our own unique spins on the reflection.
The rest of the project is going to be worked on over the
summer. We are working on raising $85,000 over the next few
months so that we can complete the project. We are hoping
that parishioners will be able to come out to our fund raising
events, such as the first bingo of every month, to help support
the preschool project.
Two weeks ago, the eighth graders split into groups in their religion class,
and each group wrote their own version of one station and an
accompanying prayer. That Friday in our Lenten families, we walked
through their stations and reflected on their prayers as a school. Next
week, we are looking forward to the sixth graders writing the stations for
our Friday assembly.
We are beginning the enrollment process for the 2014-2015
school year. If you are interested in Most Holy Trinity

This past Wednesday, our seventh graders had the incredible experience of
attending the first ever California We Day event in Oakland. We Day is a
nationwide educational movement that focuses on bringing youth together
in the spirit of global change. Speakers and performers at the event
included Martin Luther King III, Orlando Bloom, Magic Johnson and
Selena Gomez.

Although tickets for the exclusive events are difficult to come by, Most
Holy Trinity School was invited to attend. The seventh grade class had an
amazing experience coming together with other youth in the area and
learning about how they can create social change and make a difference in
the world, even at a young age.
Next weekend, we are excited to host our annual Casino Night fundraiser
on Saturday, April 5. Tickets for the fun-filled evening of food, drinks and
gaming can be purchased from the school office.
In addition to assorted gift baskets, raffle prizes include tickets to San
Francisco Giants and Oakland A's games and condo rentals in Kauai, Lake
Tahoe and Palm Desert. All are welcome to join the festivities and raise
money for our wonderful school and students!

These days, adults are spending more time at work than ever
before. An unfortunate side effect is that, as a nation, we're
becoming more inactive. This is a problem when you consider
that physical inactivity doubles the risk of heart disease!
Hoy en día, los adultos pasan más tiempo en el trabajo que
nunca. Un desafortunado efecto secundario es que, como una
nación, estamos cada vez más inactiva. Este es un problema si

On April 2nd, Americans are encouraged to lace up their
sneakers and take at least 30 minutes out of their day to get up
and walk.

the risk of developing diseases such as cancer and heart
disease.

Becoming more active can lower your blood pressure by as
much as 4 to 9 mm Hg. That's the same reduction in blood
pressure delivered by some blood pressure medications.
Physical activity can also boost your levels of good
cholesterol. And it definitely helps lower your blood sugar
levels.
Ser más activo puede bajar la presión arterial de 4 a 9 puntos.
Esa es la misma reducción entregada por algunos
medicamentos para la presión arterial. La actividad física
