LIFE FROM DEATH
Lent is about Easter, and Easter is about life after death. As we draw closer to Easter, the Sunday readings become more
and more explicit about this. In a rather dry, matter-of-fact way, today’s reading from St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans
teaches that our “mortal bodies” will be raised to life. But in a far more gripping way, the Lord shouts at us through the
prophet Ezekiel, “O my people, I will open your graves . . . I will put my spirit in you . . . I have promised, and I will do
it.” When Jesus saw the people weeping over the death of Lazarus, he was troubled in spirit and moved by the deepest
emotions. Approaching the tomb, Jesus himself began to weep. He loved Lazarus. In fact, Jesus loved Lazarus so much
that he snatched him out of his tomb, back to life. That’s how God loves us. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
Jesús amaba a Lázaro.

Helping Pregnant
Mothers in Need
Have you noticed the “Sign of Hope” outside our
parish? Through this sign we wish to convey to
pregnant mothers in crisis that in the conception
of each and every child, the members of this
parish see a brand new gift of God's perfect love.
No pregnant mother of any age should feel alone or afraid because of the
unexpected blessing of a child. Volunteers from parishes throughout our
diocese are ready to stand beside any mother who needs help and to
personally care for her throughout her pregnancy and beyond.
Need Help? If someone you know is pregnant and needs emotional or
material support, please call the Gabriel Project Helpline at (408) 214-2324
Want to Volunteer? If this speaks to your heart, you can volunteer to help
by becoming a mentor to a pregnant mother in need or by becoming a parish
ambassador to help get others involved. Please contact

Most Holy Trinity Preschool
Thank you to all of the wonderful parishioners who have
supported our preschool since opening in August of 2012. We
are about halfway through our second year and we could not
be more proud of what these young children are now able to
accomplish.
We are now working on our plan to expand the preschool from
a maximum of 14 students at any time to 28 students at any
time. We are starting the project in February to update the
outside of the preschool to meet all of the necessary conditions
given by the city.
Dear Parishioners of Most Holy Trinity Parish,
I hope the season of Lent continues to be a time of spiritual renewal and
growing closer to God for you and your families.
At Most Holy Trinity School, we have continued walking through the
Stations of the Cross each Friday in our Lenten families. But lately, we
have put our own unique spins on the reflection.
The rest of the project is going to be worked on over the
summer. We are working on raising $85,000 over the next few
months so that we can complete the project. We are hoping
that parishioners will be able to come out to our fund raising
events, such as the first bingo of every month, to help support
the preschool project.
Two weeks ago, the eighth graders split into groups in their religion class,
and each group wrote their own version of one station and an
accompanying prayer. That Friday in our Lenten families, we walked
through their stations and reflected on their prayers as a school. Next
week, we are looking forward to the sixth graders writing the stations for
our Friday assembly.
We are beginning the enrollment process for the 2014-2015
school year. If you are interested in Most Holy Trinity
Preschool please feel free to contact Jessica Roberts at (408)
929-2287.
This past Wednesday, our seventh graders had the incredible experience of
attending the first ever California We Day event in Oakland. We Day is a
nationwide educational movement that focuses on bringing youth together
in the spirit of global change. Speakers and performers at the event
included Martin Luther King III, Orlando Bloom, Magic Johnson and
Selena Gomez.
Thank you for your continual support!

Although tickets for the exclusive events are difficult to come by, Most
Holy Trinity School was invited to attend. The seventh grade class had an
amazing experience coming together with other youth in the area and
learning about how they can create social change and make a difference in
the world, even at a young age.
Next weekend, we are excited to host our annual Casino Night fundraiser
on Saturday, April 5. Tickets for the fun-filled evening of food, drinks and
gaming can be purchased from the school office.
In addition to assorted gift baskets, raffle prizes include tickets to San
Francisco Giants and Oakland A's games and condo rentals in Kauai, Lake
Tahoe and Palm Desert. All are welcome to join the festivities and raise
money for our wonderful school and students!
God bless you and your families in the coming week!

APRIL IS AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH
ABRIL ES EL MES DE CONOCIMIENTO AUTISTA
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability
caused by differences in the brain. Scientists do not know yet
exactly what causes these differences for most people with
ASD.
People with ASD often have problems with social, emotional,
and communication skills. They might repeat certain behaviors
and might not want change in their daily activities. Many
people with ASD also have different ways of learning, paying
attention, or reacting to things.
Children or adults with ASD might:
• have trouble relating to others or not have an interest in
other people at all
• avoid eye contact and want to be alone
•
have trouble understanding other people’s feelings or
talking about their own feelings
•
appear to be unaware when people talk to them, but
respond to other sounds
• be very interested in people, but not know how to talk,
play, or relate to them
•
have trouble expressing their needs using typical words
or motions
• not play “pretend” games (for example, not pretend to
“feed” a doll)
• have trouble adapting when a routine changes
What to do if you think your child has ASD:
Talk with your child’s doctor or nurse. Ask for a referral to see
a developmental specialist. Contact your local public school
(for children 3 and older) Don’t wait! Acting early can make a
difference!
