INFANT BAPTISMS
For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the
FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The par ents must r egister in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both
parents and godparents are expected to attend one catechetical session
in
advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.
SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION
Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church,
children over the age of 7 will need catechetical pr epar ation
through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will participate in
separate RCIA pr ocesses.
CONFIRMATION and COMMUNION
For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take
place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic
Faith. For further information contact the Office of Faith Formation
Program.
MARRIAGES
Couples should contact the parish office at least six months in
advance to make the pr oper ar r angements for the Sacr ament of
Matrimony.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK
Please contact the parish office.
RECONCILIATION
A priest is available for Confessions on Saturday afternoon from
3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. You can also make an individual appointment.

EL BAUTISMO DE NIÑOS
Solamente para los niños menores de los 7 años de edad, se celebra
el sacramento el SEGUNDO y el CUARTO domingo del mes a las
2:00 pm. Es preciso que los padres se inscriban en la parroquia por
lo menos 4 semanas antes del bautismo. Ambos padres y padrinos
deberán asistir a una instrucción catequética, la noche del Miercoles
anterior al bautizo a las 7:00 pm.
SACRAMENTOS DE LA INICIACIÓN CRISTIANA
Con el propósito de participar plenamente en la vida sacramental de
la Iglesia, los niños mayores de los 7 años de edad, necesitarán
prepararse en el proceso de Iniciación Cristiana Para Niños. Los
jóvenes y los adultos se preparán separadamente en el proceso del
RICA.
CONFIRMACIÓN Y COMUNIÓN
Para los que ya están bautizados, la preparación para estos Sacramentos se llevará a cabo de acuerdo con la edad de la persona y su
conocimiento de la Fe Católica. Para más información comunicarse
con la Oficina de Formación de la Fe.
MATRIMONIOS
La pareja deberá de comunicarse con el despacho pastoral y hacer
su solicitud por los menos seis meses antes de la fecha de la boda,
para entrevistarse con el sacerdote e iniciar la preparación matrimonial.
UNCIÓN DE LOS ENFERMOS
Favor de comunicarse con el despacho pastoral.
RECONCILIACIÓN
El Sacramento se celebra semanalmente los sábados de 3:30 pm a
4:30 pm. También se puede fijar una cita para la Confesión otro día
de la semana con un sacerdote.

New assignment for Fr. Michael Udoh
Fr. Michael Udoh has taken a summer position in another parish. There was a position that
became available for July 1st. This new assignment took place quickly due to an unexpected
need in the other parish and the closeness of the summer vacation schedules. We will deeply
miss Fr. Michael for all that he has contributed to the parish over the years. Once Fr. Michael
gets more information about his schedule, we will be able to arrange a date that he can return
for a parish farewell.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Dear Parishioners,
July is the 7th month of the year. We have reached the year’s half-way point and begin the next 6
months. Is the glass half empty or half full? The answer is that life is always full of grace when we walk with
the Lord.
I was talking to someone the other day about a big decorative plant. I noticed it was not as extensive
and spread out as before. The person told me that it was pruned. In order to help it to grow, parts of it were
detached and were even used to fertilize its soil. This reminded me of the course of our lives. Our nation
celebrates Independence Day on Monday, July 4th. It is a time when fireworks are used to enhance the feeling of celebration by its beautiful colors and striking sounds. It also reminds us of the loud explosions and
flashes of light that is part of war.
We can remember the Revolutionary War that was fought for our independence from England. At
that time, it was not an enjoyable experience but one of difficult change that broke from a government that
was preventing the colonies from upholding and protecting the rights and freedom of those who lived here.
This weekend is the 12th and 13th days of the Fortnight for Freedom for Religious Liberty. We have almost
completed 14 days during which we prayed that our country’s government and its laws does not deviate from
respecting the freedom to practice one’s religion.
We declared our independence in 1776 and this bore fruit to eventually become today’s United States
of America. Let us never forget that we are called to be independent of that which enslaves us but we need to
be dependent on God who loves us and wants us to have true freedom and life. True liberty and life comes
from God’s offer of his perfect love to us and to all the people of the world. Let us ask God to help us to let
him prune us so we and all people may grow in the fullness of life. Happy Independence Day!

Queridos Feligreses:
Julio es el 7o. mes del año. Hemos llegado a un punto de medio camino del año y comenzaremos los próximos 6 meses. ¿Está el vaso medio vacío o medio lleno? La respuesta es que la vida está siempre llena de gracia
cuando caminamos con el Señor.
Conversando con alguien el otro día sobre una planta grande decorativa. Me di cuenta que no estaba tan
extensa hacia fuera como antes. La persona me indico que la habian podado. Con el fin de ayudar a que crezca,
partes de ella misma fueron incluso utilizados para fertilizar sus suelos. Esto me recordó mucho a nuestras
vidas. Nuestra nación celebra el Día de la Independencia el lunes 4 de julio. Es un momento en que los fuegos
artificiales se utilizan para mejorar la sensación de celebración por sus bellos colores y sonidos sorprendentes.
También nos recuerda las fuertes explosiones y destellos de luz que son parte de la guerra.
Recordemos la guerra revolucionaria que se luchó por nuestra independencia de Inglaterra. En ese momento, no fue una experiencia agradable, si no un cambio difícil que nos separó de un gobierno que impedía a las
colonias defender y proteger los derechos y la libertad de los que vivían aquí. Este fin de semana 12 y 13 son
días de la Quincena por la Libertad de la libertad religiosa. Casi hemos completado 14 días durante el cual oramos que el gobierno de nuestro país y sus leyes no se desvía de respetar la libertad de practicar la propia
religión.
Declaramos nuestra independencia en 1776 y esta dio fruto para finalmente convertirnos en la actuals
Estados Unidos de América. No olvidemos nunca que estamos llamados a ser independiente de aquello que nos
esclaviza, pero tenemos que ser dependiente de Dios que nos ama y quiere que tengamos una verdadera libertad
y vida. La verdadera libertad y vida viene de Dios ofreciendonos su amor perfecto para nosotros y para todos
los pueblos del mundo. Pidamos a Dios que nos ayude a dejarnos podar para que asi nosotros y todas las podamos puedan crecer en la plenitud de la vida. ¡Feliz Día de la Independencia!
