INFANT BAPTISMS
For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the
FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The par ents must r egister in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both
parents and godparents are expected to attend one catechetical session
in
advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.
SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION
Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church,
children over the age of 7 will need catechetical pr epar ation
through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will participate in
separate RCIA pr ocesses.

EL BAUTISMO DE NIÑOS
Solamente para los niños menores de los 7 años de edad, se celebra
el sacramento el SEGUNDO y el CUARTO domingo del mes a las
2:00 pm. Es preciso que los padres se inscriban en la parroquia por
lo menos 4 semanas antes del bautismo. Ambos padres y padrinos
deberán asistir a una instrucción catequética, la noche del Miercoles
anterior al bautizo a las 7:00 pm.
SACRAMENTOS DE LA INICIACIÓN CRISTIANA
Con el propósito de participar plenamente en la vida sacramental de
la Iglesia, los niños mayores de los 7 años de edad, necesitarán
prepararse en el proceso de Iniciación Cristiana Para Niños. Los
jóvenes y los adultos se preparán separadamente en el proceso del
RICA.

For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take
place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Dear Parishioners,
The green of summer reminds us of the life that thrives in creation. It is God’s gift to us.
The green in liturgy also reminds us of the life that God gives to us spiritually. The life of God
goes beyond the material. As we listen to the scriptures about the teaching, miracles and interaction of the ministry of Christ during his public ministry in this world, we are invited to
become more alive as Jesus’ disciples.
Our International Food Festival last Sunday was an exciting occasion. To see the cultural display by our different parishioners was marvelous. The food, decorations and dance
were beautiful exhibitions of the richness of our parish community. What was even more wonderful was to see different groups and members of the parish working together. This is how
our faith life becomes more vibrant. I want to thank Al Garcia, Maria Cruz and all those who
worked so hard on the Festival and Raffle. Let us continue to find ways to appreciate the richness that is in our parish and to use our resources to strengthen our church for the glory of
God.

El verde del verano nos recuerda de la vida que prospera en la creación. Es un regalo de
Dios para nosotros. El verde en la liturgia también nos recuerda la vida que Dios nos da
espiritualmente. La vida de Dios va más allá de lo material. Al escuchar las escrituras acerca de
la enseñanza, milagros y la interacción del ministerio de Cristo durante su ministerio público en
este mundo, se nos invita a ser más vivos como discípulos de Jesús.
Nuestro Festival Internacional de Comidas el pasado domingo fue una ocasión emocionante.
Poder ver el despliegue cultural de nuestros diferentes feligreses fue maravilloso. Las comidas, la
decoraciónes, y danza fueron exhibiciónes muy hermosas de la riqueza de nuestra comunidad
parroquial. Lo que es aún más maravilloso fue ver diferentes grupos y miembros de la parroquia
trabajar juntos. Esa es la forma en nuestra vidas de fe se hace más vibrante. Quiero agradecerles
a todos los que han participado en especial a Al García y María Cruz que trabajaron tanto en este
Festival y Rifa. Continuemos encontrando maneras de apreciar la riqueza que está en nuestra
parroquia y utilizar nuestros recursos para fortalecer nuestra iglesia para la gloria de Dios.

FAITH FORMATION OFFICE
The Faith formation program of our parish has begun Registrations for the summer. If you have any
questions please contact the office directly at 718-457-3457.
All children who attend the Public Schools are urged to attend from Grades 1 through 8. High School
Students who desire to receive the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation are welcome to sign up
as well and they will be instructed according to their age group.
