Lent
Lent began last Wednesday. We want to focus on
Mercy this Lent since Pope Francis has declared
this to be the Year of Mercy. There are three basic
ways you can join us in this:
1. Choose a heart from one of the Works of Mercy and do
one of the suggested activities and then bring that heart
back.
2. Take part in the Rice Bowl Collection.
3. Take home the Mercy Lent Booklet and pray with it every
day.
We are very excited about all the things that we are
offering for mercy. But, we have to keep reminding
ourselves that Mercy is primarily about God’s mercy
toward us. Let us be very thankful for that all Lent
long.
Annual Catholic Appeal
If you did not have a chance to fill out a pledge card
for the Annual Appeal, feel free to pick one up from
the pews and hand it in at the office or in the
collection basket.
Rice Bowl
This year we are participating in the Rice Bowl, a
Lenten Collection for Catholic Relief Services. We
will distribute at Mass today, little boxes that you
can put offerings in and bring back to the parish
during Holy Week. Catholic Relief Services does a
wonderful job of providing for people in need
throughout the world.
Cuaresma
La Cuaresma ya comenzó el miércoles pasado.
Debemos centrarnos en la Misericordia esta
Cuaresma ya que el Papa Francisco ha declarado
este el Año de la Misericordia. Hay tres maneras
básicas en las que se puede unir a nosotros:
1. Elija un corazón de una de las Obras de la
Misericordia y realice una de las actividades sugeridas y
después de terminarla, regrese el corazón.
2. Participe en la Colección de Plato de Arroz.
3. Lleve a casa un Librito de la Misericordia Cuaresmal y
haga su oración con él todos los días.
Estamos muy contentos con todas las cosas que
estamos ofreciendo para la misericordia. Sin embargo,
tenemos que recordar que la misericordia se trata
sobre todo de la misericordia de Dios hacia nosotros.
Agradezcamos esto durante toda la Cuaresma.
El Llamado Anual Católico
Si usted no tuvo la oportunidad de llenar una tarjeta
de compromiso para El Llamado Anual, no titubee
en recoger una tarjeta de las bancas y entregarlo en
la oficina o en la canasta de la colecta.
Plato de Arroz
Este año estamos participando en el Plato de Arroz,
una colección cuaresmal de Catholic Relief Services.
Vamos a distribuir en misa de hoy, pequeñas cajas
que usted puede poner su ofrenda y después traerla
a la parroquia durante la Semana Santa. Catholic
Relief Services hace un trabajo maravilloso de
proporcionar ayuda a personas necesitadas en todo
el mundo.

Curso Alpha
Estamos comenzando el Curso Alpha de nuevo.
Este curso presenta nuestra fe en una poderosa
manera que nos lleva a querer seguir a Jesús y
vivir para Él todos los días. A través de
explicaciones de video, nos da confianza sobre lo
que creemos. Esto nos lleva a la oración y la
gracia del Espíritu Santo para servir a Dios.

We are beginning a Vocation Circle!
This Circle is to help young adults to listen to the
call of God in their lives. It is for men and
women who are discerning the direction of God
in their lives: to marry, to become priests or
nuns, to serve God in other capacities. We just
ask that the young men and women be serious
about their love for God and that they be open to
whatever
vocation
God
may
be
calling them. We will start meeting in two
weeks. Interested? Call Fr. John at the office.
