The Solemnity of the Most Holy
Trinity
Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most
Holy Trinity. That means we are celebrating God
on this holy day. In the Catholic Church a solemnity is the
highest ranking holy day possible (followed by a feast and a memorial).
The Most Holy Trinity is the central mystery of our Catholic faith.
As Catholics we acknowledge the Holy Trinity when we arrive in a
church, and several times during our liturgies as well as other times.
Every time we make the sign of the cross, every time we pray most
likely, we are expressing our faith in the Trinity and our faith that the
Trinity was revealed by Jesus on the Cross. One part of
stewardship is knowing our traditions and the
meanings behind them.
Making the sign of the Cross should never be an empty gesture on
our parts. Jesus told us that if we love Him, God (the Trinity) will come
and dwell within us. More than once St. Paul reminds us that we are
“temples of the living God.” God is within each and every one of us.
Do we realize that? Do we live out that truth? Today’s feast confronts
us to examine ourselves and our lives. As good stewards we need to
live with the certainty that the Blessed Trinity is present in us. Then we
need to reflect that presence.
Pope Francis, in his homily on the Feast of the Holy Trinity in 2013,
said, “In today’s feast we praise God for His glory is immense. We
praise Him and thank Him for He is love, and He calls us to embrace
Him and those around us with that love.”

In this the Pope Francis proclaimed “Jubilee Year of Mercy”; we want to remind everyone of the rich culture and heritage at St. Ann
Parish of caring and supporting those in need. Our “Ministries of Mercy” are focused on loving support and care in time of special need.
Our door is open for you!
In a time of special need, we have many “Mercy” ministries here to help provide support and loving care. They include the Ministry to
the Sick, Ministry of Consolation (grief and divorce recovery), Stephen Ministry (one-to-one caring), Good Samaritans (temporary help
with meals during illness), Prayer & Healing Ministry, Ignation Prayer Ministry, Prayer Shawl Ministry, Ministry of Elder Care Support, and
Spiritual Support for Cancer.

Alpha - A Parishioner's Story, Angel
“Before Alpha, I think I was just an ok Catholic. I went to Mass every Sunday, prayed when I
remembered, and sometimes had doubts about my Catholic faith.
I've always thought of myself as the older son in the parable of the prodigal son who has always been
with God but not really; jealous and envious of other Catholics who I think have a better relationship
with God. But I am also actually the younger son, who just needs to come home. I guess I'm both.
The weekend of the retreat I think was the turning point of my Alpha course. I experienced the Holy
Spirit like never before, I went home after the retreat wanting more. For me the Holy Mass is the
complete package. I listen to the word of God and experience the consecration; it is the best form of
prayer and communication to God. I love going to Mass, and Alpha made me appreciate the mass
even more. I now have a friend named Jesus. I have grown to know Him more.”

we come together to learn more about how we can
incorporate the Jubilee Year of Mercy into our married lives. Father Peter Hopkins will be returning as
our guest speaker. The retreat will be bilingual.
Please consider joining us for a time of fellowship, adoration, sharing, learning, reconciliation,
attending mass, playing games and enjoying couple
time away from the busy distractions of everyday
life in a beautiful setting on Lake Lewisville. We will
be renewing our wedding vows during the Mass on
Sunday morning.
We only have 28 rooms reserved in the Tally
Center so it is on a first-come basis. Please contact

Kids Eat Free
It’s time to get ready to help the kids in our community! Kids
Eat Free is a program that provides summer lunches to those
children who receive free breakfast/lunches at their schools
during the school year. This ministry assembles and delivers
lunches Monday through Friday from June 6 th – August 19th.
We meet in the kitchen at 10:45 and assemble the lunches to
take to the kids. This is a wonderful way of introducing your
children to the importance of volunteering. You can help as
often as you’d like.
We also need weekly leaders. It’s easy! The leader gets the
food set up so the volunteers can assemble the lunches and then
takes the lunches to the kids. In order to be a leader you must
be able to drive.

LA PUERTA SANTA DE LA MISERICORDIA
En nuestra tradición católica, la puerta o el umbral es un lugar sagrado. Cuando se construye una
nueva iglesia, las puertas son bendecidas, y muchos de nuestros sacramentos y rituales comienzan
en estas puertas consagradas. En el año jubilar, la Puerta de la iglesia tiene un significado especial.
La puerta es un signo de Cristo que dijo: “En verdad les digo que yo soy la puerta de las ovejas. El
que entre por mí estará a salvo; entrará y saldrá y encontrará alimento”. (Juan 10:7, 9). Dentro de las
puertas de la Iglesia, el pueblo de Dios encuentra descanso, seguridad y alimento.
La puerta es un signo del Pueblo de Dios que se le ha mandado “Vayan, pues, y hagan que todos
los pueblos sean mis discípulos”. (Mateo 28:19). Es por eso que los primeros cristianos se llamaban a
sí mismos el Pueblo del camino, y hoy estamos llamados a ser la Iglesia Peregrina, porque estamos
en una peregrinación diaria hacia nuestro hogar celestial, y en el camino nosotros invitamos a otros
a unirse en este viaje.
La puerta es el lugar de “pasar de largo”, en recuerdo de la noche cuando el ángel de la muerte
pasó sobre las casas de los israelitas esclavizados en Egipto, dándoles condición de seguridad. Esa
fue la noche en que fueron liberados de la esclavitud salvándose de la muerte. Por lo tanto, la puerta
de la Iglesia es un lugar de salvación, donde nos encontramos con la misericordia de Dios en formas
reales y tangibles en nuestras vidas. Por la puerta, entramos en la Iglesia para encontrar y conocer la
misericordia de Dios; de aquí, salimos al mundo para llevar la misericordia de Dios a los demás.
El 8 de diciembre de 2015, el Papa Francisco, abrió la Puerta Santa en Roma para dar inicio del Año de la Misericordia para
simbolizar las bendiciones que Dios quiere dar a quien lo solicite. Se han invitado a todas las diócesis católicas en el mundo para
establecer algo similar a Roma en la puerta Santa en la Catedral y en otras iglesias designadas por el obispo local. Estas puertas
serán lugares donde los fieles pueden encontrar la misericordia de Dios y ser fortalecidos para ser misericordiosos con los demás
como Dios ha sido misericordioso con ellos.

los requerimientos de este precioso regalo de nuestra iglesia.
