CALL TO CONVERSION AND HOLINESS
In the area of priestly vocations, we all must
ask the question, “what about me?” For the
lay faithful: is there esteem for the
priesthood in my home and generosity with
God in the bringing forth of children? For
priest: am I showing forth a joyful ministry of
service that young men will want to follow?
For Religious men and women and for all of
us: Am I praying, as Jesus asked me to do, “for laborers for the
harvest?”
You are invited to read Cardinal Rigali’s Pastoral
Letter that can be found on the home page of the Archdiocese

CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION
This year we will celebrate the Annual
Solemnity of Corpus Christi (Sunday, June
26th) with a Eucharistic Procession through
the streets of Norristown, beginning at
1:00PM. Come join us. Share your faith and
thank God for the gift of the Eucharist.
My dearest parishioners,
This weekend is very festive for all of us at the
Archdiocese of Philadelphia. On Saturday, May 21,
2011 Cardinal Justin Rigali ordained three deacons to
the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. I
was especially invited to the ordination since I had
taught the three Spanish during this final year of
studies at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. I can
attest that the three will be excellent priests that are
holy ones. They had worked hard at the seminary
and had studied diligently. All three are outstanding
students who will be a definite asset to our
Archdiocese. I extend a very warm welcome to the
three of them and wish them good luck as priests.
Their parents and friends should be very happy for
them. So, in the name of St. Patrick Church I
promise all three of our newly ordained priests our
prayers and good wishes for them. God Bless all of
you!
In Christ,
Father Gus
THE WEARING OF THE RED: Sunday, June
12th is Pentecost Sunday. On this day we
celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon
the apostles and Mary. We celebrate the
"birthday" of the Church. We celebrate our
identity as children of God filled with the life of
the Holy Spirit. RED is the color of the day. All
are invited, therefore, to WEAR SOMETHING RED TO MASS on
SATURDAY, June 11th and SUNDAY, June 12th: a tie, a shirt, a
skirt, a blouse, red socks, whatever--but nothing too expensive,
since you WILL be getting WET again!
MEMORIAL DAY CELEBRATION
May 30th 2011
St. Patrick Cemetery & Mausoleum
Join us on Memorial Day as we Honor our Veterans and
Celebrate Mass at 10A.M. Monday, May 30th, 2011 in the
Chapel of the Holy Souls Mausoleum with Memorial
Service and Celebration following immediately afterward.
There will be Military Guest Speakers from the Navy and
Valley Forge Military Academy.
Thank you to the 4 families who so generously
took MANNA BAGS, filled them and returned
them to the Church for the use of the Patrician
Society.
Catholic Charities Appeal 2011
The 2011 Catholic Charities Appeal, Open Your Heart,
-Open a Door, continues to build on our blessings and
the success of past Appeals to reach out to the entire
Catholic Community of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
The goal is to provide funding to organizations and programs that
maintain and in many instances, save lives, and provide livelihood for
the people of Greater Philadelphia. Without the Catholic Charities
Appeal, many families, children, individuals living below the poverty
line, individuals in need of specialized attention/support, families in
need of spiritual and emotional guidance and those who are unable to
receive Federal or State benefits could not survive.
MASS OF HEALING
The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick will
be administered at the 5 PM Mass
Saturday, May 28, 2011. Any Catholic
whose health (physical, emotional, mental
or spiritual) is seriously impaired by
sickness or advanced age is eligible to receive the Sacrament. Those
who are facing surgery are also encouraged to receive the Sacrament.
Those wishing to participate in this Sacrament are asked to preregister by contacting the Parish Health Committee at 610-272-4500
extension 5. Please leave your name, telephone number and any
special needs. Someone from the committee will return your call.
Registered members are asked to arrive at the Mass of Healing by 4:30 PM for
specialty seating.
LITURGY OF THE WORD
Need your help! Adults are needed to assist in presenting the Liturgy
of the Word to our children at the 10:00AM Mass. All handouts and
materials needed for each week's readings along with suggestions for
discussion questions are provided. Those interested in facilitating a 1520 minute L.O.W. for Children once a month, please call Maryann
Mitchell at 610-272-4500 ext 4.
Just a word of thanks to all of you who continue to
faithfully support St. Patrick Parish during this difficult
economy. Even in these trying times you maintain the same
level of financial support. Please know that your
generosity and sacrifice are much appreciated and be
assured that all offerings are used with the utmost
responsibility!

Thank you for your contributions to your parish!
A Parishioner: “I am happy to see that parishioners are responding to
tithing and that our pastor is responding to the parishioners. Since I
started to budget for the Lord, I have been blessed in many ways. I
haven’t won the lottery or anything like that, but I have been blessed in
ways that are important to my family.”
PRO- LIFE
“The question is no longer whether we are on a slippery slope,
careening downward toward a world of machine-tooled and stunted
humanity-a world in which love is displaced by technique and longing
by social planning. We’re on the slope all right, and the question is
whether the brakes can be applied soon enough.” (George Weigel,
The Southern Cross, 1/09)

RESPECT LIFE
As published in the Feb. 10 issue of The Catholic Standard & Times, the
Philadelphia Archdiocese has announced the establishment of a potential
grave site in the recently opened infant section of All Souls Cemetery in
West Brandywine. This is the Catholic Christian response to the
horrendous discovery at a West Philadelphia abortion clinic of the
remains of perhaps hundreds of pre-born children who were murdered
there and left in jars or other containers, some in a freezer. To quote
Auxiliary Bishop John McIntyre: "If we can move people's hearts through
this story to see the true sacredness of all human life, then we can say
that these infants did not die in vain." Besides providing dignity in death,
Bishop McIntyre said the burial offer is "testimony to the Church's respect
for all human life from the moment of conception to natural death."
Donations can be sent to the Archdiocesan Infant Memorial Fund, Room
830, 222 N. 17th St., Philadelphia., PA 19103

AM to 2:00 PM, to collect donations of usable men’s women’s and
children’s clothing. They will also be accepting small household goods

books). We also accept small appliances in good working order. No baby
equipment, only clothing. For furniture Pick-Ups, please call (215) 288-8160.

MAY IS MARY’S MONTH
May is traditionally dedicated by Catholics as “The
Month of Mary”. May exudes an inner peace because
it gives assurance of vitality, growth and strength.
May reflects the beauty of a mother’s love and
protection for her children. This is the month
dedicated to Mary, the Mother of Jesus and our
Mother. During this month of Mary, we, as devoted
and loving children of our Blessed Lady, should pay
an emphasized devotion to her. We should make it
imperative to recite the holy rosary every day and, if
possible, to attend Mass every morning. Perhaps
those who can will pray the litany of Mary and recite
the office of the Blessed Mother.
SHOPRITE RECEIPTS

Seminario San Carlos Borromeo.
ordenados nuestras oraciones y felicitaciones. ¡Que Dios
les bendiga a todos!
En Cristo,
Padre Gus

El aborto es siempre una derrota para la humanidad: las

jamas ha sido presentado y aprobado como correcto un objetivo tan inmoral.
