INFANT BAPTISMS
For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the
FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The par ents must r egister in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both
parents and godparents are expected to attend one catechetical session
in advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.
SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION
Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church,
children over the age of 7 will need catechetical pr epar ation
through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will participate in
separate RCIA pr ocesses.
CONFIRMATION and COMMUNION
For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take
place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic
Faith. For further information contact the Office of Faith Formation
Program.
MARRIAGES
Couples should contact the parish office at least six months in
advance to make the pr oper ar r angements for the Sacr ament of
Matrimony.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK
Please contact the parish office.
RECONCILIATION
A priest is available for Confessions on Saturday afternoon from
3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. You can also make an individual appointment.

EL BAUTISMO DE NIÑOS
Solamente para los niños menores de los 7 años de edad, se celebra
el sacramento el SEGUNDO y el CUARTO domingo del mes a las
2:00 pm. Es preciso que los padres se inscriban en la parroquia por
lo menos 4 semanas antes del bautismo. Ambos padres y padrinos
deberán asistir a una instrucción catequética, la noche del Miercoles
anterior al bautizo a las 7:00 pm.
SACRAMENTOS DE LA INICIACIÓN CRISTIANA
Con el propósito de participar plenamente en la vida sacramental de
la Iglesia, los niños mayores de los 7 años de edad, necesitarán
prepararse en el proceso de Iniciación Cristiana Para Niños. Los
jóvenes y los adultos se preparán separadamente en el proceso del
RICA.
CONFIRMACIÓN Y COMUNIÓN
Para los que ya están bautizados, la preparación para estos Sacramentos se llevará a cabo de acuerdo con la edad de la persona y su
conocimiento de la Fe Católica. Para más información comunicarse
con la Oficina de Formación de la Fe.
MATRIMONIOS
La pareja deberá de comunicarse con el despacho pastoral y hacer
su solicitud por los menos seis meses antes de la fecha de la boda,
para entrevistarse con el sacerdote e iniciar la preparación matrimonial.
UNCIÓN DE LOS ENFERMOS
Favor de comunicarse con el despacho pastoral.
RECONCILIACIÓN
El Sacramento se celebra semanalmente los sábados de 3:30 pm a
4:30 pm. También se puede fijar una cita para la Confesión otro día
de la semana con un sacerdote.

SOLEMNITY OF THE ASSUMPTION
The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary falls on Monday,
August 15th it is NOT a Holy day of Obligation. In honor of Our Lady
we will celebrate a Bilingual Mass on Monday, August 15th at 7:30 P.M.
Before Mass at 7 PM come for a bilingual Rosary accompanied by a
visual display of the mysteries. All are welcome.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Dear Parishioners,
In front of our Church we have a large Logo of the Divine Mercy Year that was donated
to us. It is an image of the Son having taken upon his shoulders the lost soul demonstrating
that it is the love of Christ that brings to completion the mystery of his incarnation culminating in redemption. The Good Shepherd Jesus looks so strong in this image as he lifts up
the lost soul. It is this strength that raises all humanity up to the heavens.
This Monday we celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is by the strength
of the Lord that Mary is assumed into heaven. It is by God’s unlimited mercy that God
shares the gift of eternal life with us all. If we look at the eyes of Christ and the soul he is
carrying in the logo, we see that the middle eye is shared. Jesus sees what we are seeing as
human beings and he calls us to see what he sees in his divine mercy. Let us then do what
we hear in Luke 6:36, “Be merciful just as your Father is merciful.”

Queridos Feligreses:
En frente de nuestra Iglesia tenemos un gran logotipo de la Misericordia Divina Año que
fue donado a la iglesia. Es una imagen del Hijo tomado sobre sus hombros las almas
perdidas demostrando que es el amor de Cristo que trae la finalización del misterio de su
encarnación culminando en la redención. El buen pastor Jesús se ve tan fuerte en esta
imagen mientras levanta las almas perdidas. Es esta fuerza que eleva toda la humanidad
hasta el cielo.
Este lunes se celebra la Asunción de la Virgen María. Es la fuerza del Señor que María
fue elevada al cielo. Es por la misericordia ilimitada de Dios que Dios comparte el regalo
de la vida eterna con todos nosotros. Si miramos a los ojos de Cristo y las almas que está
llevando en la insignia, vemos que el ojo de en medio es compartido. Jesús ve lo que vemos
como seres humanos y que nos llama a ver lo que ve en su misericordia divina. Veamos a
continuación, hacemos lo que oímos en Lucas 6:36, "Sed misericordiosos como vuestro Padre
es compasivo."

SISTER PATRICIA REILLS
It is with great sadness that we inform you that Sr. Pat had to resign from ministry here as DRE
and Pastoral Associate effective September 1st. Her physical strength no longer allows her
to do all that this ministry requires. She is still working here until August 31st.
Sr. Pat will be moving to a convent at St. Francis of Assisi parish in Newburgh, NY
with 3 other Presentation Sisters on August 31st.
She hopes to come back monthly on the 2nd Sunday to Our Lady of Fatima.
Sr. Pat has been an inspiration to many and we thank her for her generous service to our parish.
We welcome Saul Llasca from Bolivia as our new DRE. He has been in the US for 5 years
studying Theology and Philosophy at Dunwoodie Seminary in NY.
He is taking off this year from school and will be living at the Rectory as of August 14th.
HERMANA PATRICIA REILLS
Con inmensa tristeza les informamos que la Hna. Pat
tuvo que renunciar al ministerio aquí como Directora de Educación
Religiosa y Asociada Pastoral efectivo el 1 de septiembre.
Su fuerza física ya no le permite hacer todo lo que este ministerio requiere.
Ella sigue trabajando aquí hasta el 31 de agosto.
Hna. Pat se trasladará a un convento en la parroquia San Francisco de Asís en
Newburgh, Nueva York con otras 3 hermanas de la Presentación el 31 de agosto.
Ella espera volver mensualmente a nuestra parroquia cada segundo domingo.
Hna. Pat ha sido una gran inspiración para muchos y le damos mil gracias
por su generoso servicio a nuestra parroquia.
Demos la bienvenida a Saúl Llasca de Bolivia como nuestro nuevo Director de Educación
Religiosa. Él ha estado en los EE.UU. durante 5 años estudiando

FAITH FORMATION OFFICE
The Faith Formation Program of our parish has begun Registrations for the summer. Please register in the rectory.
We are in need of Substitute Teachers/Catechists to serve our community as well as the program. We urge you to please volunteer
your time to the Sunday school program. We will train and assist you in your journey as a Substitute. If you have any questions or
would like to volunteer, please contact the office directly at 718-457-3457.
All children who attend the Public Schools are urged to attend Sunday school from Grades 1 through 8. High School students who
desire to receive the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation are also welcome to sign up as well and they will be instructed according to their age group.
