Calling All Cooks!
The St. Henry Chili Cook-Off is
back! Mark your calendars for
Saturday, October 3rd. We are looking for parish cooks who would like
to compete for cash prizes and the
honor of Best Chili of St. Henry
parish. If you are interested in participating as a cook, please contact
Dorothy at (602) 920-8029.
The following information should be helpful in planning for sacramental preparation at our parish: To enroll children in religious
education at St. Henry, the family must be registered parishioners. In the diocese of Phoenix, the sacraments of Confirmation &
1st Communion are offered together when a child is in 3 rd grade.
Therefore, children must be enrolled in religious education as 1st
graders in order to complete the two year program by 3 rd grade.
We will accept some 2nd graders. Classes begin in January 2016.
Enrollment for Level One is in November on a first-come,
first-served basis. You must be registered prior to enrolling a
student and also have a copy of the child’s baptismal certificate
on hand.
For students enrolled in Level One & Level Two Religious
Education, your classes resume on Wednesday, September 9th.
One – Night Parish Bible Study Opportunity
“In the Beginning was the Word . . .”
The Gospel of John is often viewed as the most spiritual of the
four gospel accounts. While this may be the case, it is likewise
deeply rooted in the testimony of the first Christians.
Come explore the themes of testimony and discipleship in the
Gospel of John with seminarian Dan Connealy on Thursday
evening, August 20. Information on registration will be provided in
the coming weeks.
Cleaning the Chapel
Volunteers are needed to help maintain the beauty of our new
chapel by cleaning floors, pews, and furnishings. Our next cleaning day is Tuesday, August 4th at 9:00am. For more information,

Celebrate Marriage Event With Bishop Thomas J.
Olmsted—Saturday, September 12
Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral
Come celebrate marriage at this annual diocesan event consisting of a
beautiful Mass and luncheon. This year’s speakers
at the luncheon are the dynamic Trent and Laura
Horn of Catholic Answers, presenting “Marriage:
Joyful in the Midst of Challenges.” Mass begins at
10 AM, luncheon follows in the parish hall. Those
celebrating 25th, 40th, and 50th + jubilarian anniversaries receive a special blessing, group photo with
Bishop Olmsted, and frame-worthy certificate when
pre-registered. $45 per couple for luncheon. Registration required. For registration information, call

ningún negocio o asociación con Planned Parenthood, a solo que sea

Each year since 2011 on the Feast of St. Henry (July 13), our Knights
of Columbus council has presented the “Volunteer of the Year” Award.
This year’s recipient is Emily Baughman.
