Reflection from the Pastor:
Today’s Gospel gives us the first miracle of Our Lord. It’s a reminder to
us that our Christian faith is filled with joy. Jesus doesn’t come to destroy
our humanity; rather, he comes to give us abundant life. Perhaps tonight or
tomorrow, we might drink a glass of wine and thank Our Lord for the gift of
his love and for reminding us of the goodness of our life with Him.

Bulletin Bits from the Diocesan Stewardship Office
"Once One Chooses to be a Disciple of Christ, Stewardship is not an
Option”
For Zion’s sake I will not be silent! During Jesus’ public ministry he went
about proclaiming the Good News that the Kingdom of God has come. We,
as his disciples, make a commitment to follow his teaching and proclaim the
Kingdom of God. Isaiah’s words inspire us to boldly proclaim God’s love
and to unfalteringly follow our Savior. St. Paul encourages us, knowing that
the Lord instills in each of us a gift that is key to living our discipleship. At
the wedding in Cana, we see Mary, the first Disciple, directing and forming
us with her words, “Do whatever he tells you.” May we listen to the Teacher
and contemplate his Love.

St. Vincent de Paul
As you have heard, Pope Francis has
proclaimed this upcoming year an
"extraordinary jubilee - a Holy Year of
Mercy." With that in mind and with the
help and support of your generous donations, our
Sacred Heart SVdP Society is now able to help assist
those in need in our community. Rent assistance was
recently provided to a young family with 3 small
children and a request for food was fulfilled and
delivered to another family within the Ark City area.
Thank you for your continued support and helping us
to help those in need. God bless you always! Our
next meeting will be Thursday, January 21st at 6:00
pm in the school cafeteria. All are welcome.

vigil. Mass will be celebrated at the
Cathedral of the Immaculate
Conception, Broadway and Central, Wichita at 6:00 p.m.

5:40 p.m. Immediately following Mass, a candlelight
prayer service will be held at South Wind Women’s
Center at 5107 E. Kellogg, Wichita. You are welcome
to attend one event or both events. Please join us as we
stand for the voiceless and pray that abortion will come

Knights of Columbus News
Our next regular meeting will be on Monday,
January 25th, at 7:30 PM.
Knight and Family of the Month
Tim Ford and his wife Kim have 2 children; Steve- 25 and
Katie- 22. Kim is an active member in the Altar Society.
Tim is a past Arkalalah Executive Committee Chairman, and
he spent many hours over a 5 year period while he was on
the board to make sure the event went as planned. He has
previously served on the parish council, school council, and
is currently on the finance council. Kim is the current Vice
President of the Sacred Heart St. Vincent de Paul Chapter.
Tim is a tremendous help with events for the Knights and
Sacred Heart. Tim needs no instruction; he just jumps right
in and helps with setup of tables, preparation of meals, and
cleanup. Tim and Kim are on the regular schedules as
Extraordinary Ministers, Lector, Offertory, Greeters, and
cleaning the church. At Christmas time, they both assist in
delivery of gifts for children and for needy families. Anyone
that has met Tim or Kim knows they are a joy to talk to.
They always will put a smile on your face and shine God’s
light on your life. It is our pleasure to recognize Tim Ford
and his family for Knight and Family for the Month of
December 2015.
