As we enter into the New Year and the second
month of the Year of Mercy, we are asked
to embrace the words of Jesus, “When I
was a stranger you welcomed me;
when I was naked you clothed me.”
Mientras entramos en el Ano Nuevo y el
Segundo mes del Ano de Misericordia, el
Papa Francisco nos pide acoger las palabras
de Jesús, “Fui forastero, y me dieron
alojamiento; necesité ropa y me vistieron.”
How can you practice this Mercy in your life?
One local opportunity is thru the Good Samarian Mission which has been caring for the hungry, hurting, and homeless in our community
since 1970. The Mission’s on-going Coat-Drive
continues into January. They seek new or gently used adult winter coats, hats, and gloves to
distribute to the needy in our community. During the month of January, you will find a Coat
Donation box in the Gathering Area right here
at Our Lady of the Mountains. Please search
your heart (and your closet) and help clothe
the needy in our community. The Good Samarian Mission also needs new men’s underclothes
(boxers or briefs). You can also place these
items in the donation box in the Gathering Area.
¿Cómo podrías practicar esta misericordia en tu
vida? Una oportunidad cercana es a través de
la Misión del Buen Samaritano que ha estado
cuidando de los hambrientos, los que sufren y
los sin casa en nuestra comunidad desde 1970.
Su colecta de abrigos continúa durante el mes
de enero. Buscan a abrigos, gorros, y guantes

Want to do even more? The mission’s Volunteer Group helps with tasks both at the Mission
and at various fundraising events. This volunteer opportunity can be just a one-time commitment or an on-going ministry. We would
like to build up a list of volunteers from our
Catholic community that would be willing to
help at the Mission now and then. If you
would like to volunteer or would just like some

This service to our parish allows many individuals
to participate in our Sunday Masses and weekday Masses. What a wonderful way to serve our
church and our Lord!

NATIVITY SCENE
Our Lady of the Mountains
will set up a Nativity Scene
on the South East corner of
the Town Square for our
Jackson Community to enjoy.
It will be up from
December 20 to January 2 for
your viewing pleasure.
YEAR END CONTRIBUTION
Your contributions to the parish are key to
our ministries. They make possible
the catechesis of our children and
adults, reception of the Sacraments
and worship, outreach to the poor,
sick and elderly and much more. If
you would like to make a year-end
donation, it must be turned in by December 31, 2015. You may donate
online or in the office. We invite you
to call the parish office with any

DIACONATE FORMATION
Are you a man interested in learning
more about becoming a permanent
deacon, or do you know a man who
would make a good deacon? Learn
more! Five inquiry sessions about the
deacon formation program will be held
