FR DWIGHT’S MESSAGE
“SUNDAY IS THE LORD’S DAY ;
NOT THE LORD’S HOUR!”
Every so often, thrice a day in fact, I peruse the Vatican News Service to see what’s happening with
the Holy Father Pope Francis, where he is travelling to and what he is saying. I am truly enamored with Pope
Francis and the down-to-earth wisdom with which he speaks and the truly human way in which he loves.
He has almost no airs about him: he just loves people and that kind of love is so infectious, so refreshing, so
enjoyable and so real!
These men of God that we look up to like giants in our lives of faith! They are larger than life and yet
very human. They have been such wisdom figures yet to themselves, they are simple and definitely unworthy. They have touched thousands and thousands of lives yet only a few choice people remain as gems in
their memories. They are so much more than they know, they speak so much more than they actually say,
they reach so far deeper than they could conceive, they love so much more than we will ever understand!
For they stand in person Chrisiti (in the person of Christ) day after day, used by God as ministers of
the sacraments and willing though unworthy participants in the Eucharistic drama. They challenge us to
sneak a glimpse of the Divine Life and with devotion and indulgent prayer, to touch the face of God.
I loved the amazing priests of my life and my memory. Because of them, I am a priest of the Messiah
Jesus Christ! And I definitely hope that I, in my ordinariness and imperfection, I can dare make an impact
on others like I have been “dented” by the presence of those Holy Men in my life! What a tall order of love I
have to live up to!
I AM HERE TO LOVE YOU!!

“Every form of catechesis would do well to attend to the “way of beauty”. Proclaiming Christ
means showing that to believe in and to follow
him is not only something right and true, but also something beautiful, capable of filling life with
new splendour and profound joy, even in the
midst of difficulties. Every expression of true
beauty can thus be acknowledged as a path leading to an encounter with the Lord Jesus.”
– Pope Francis, Evangelii gaudium
