It was only after Miss Collins went on a morning neighborhood patrol that she found out the real reason for Matt’s tardiness. Thump, thump, thump, came the wheelchair down the stairs. It was Matt, steadying Shawnetta as he helped lower her down the stairs and then push her to the corner bus stop. TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION The first “presbyters” were advisers to the bishops rather than what we would call “priests,” yet by the year 1000 our present-day understanding of the ordained priesthood is clearly in place. The Germanic influence was strong in those days, reflected in a series of questions posed to the candidate about his intentions. The priest’s role in the celebration of Mass had by then come to the fore, as the ritual notes that Mass vestments must be worn, the hands of the priest must be anointed with chrism, and a chalice with wine and water and a paten “She’s a girl in my parish youth with a host must be given. Anger Management Classes Monthly Anger Management Meetings Starting August 3, 2016 Do you know a friend, or relative who struggles with anger? You may not have to look any further than your own mirror. We all know what anger is, and we have all felt it. We all get angry sometimes, but anger, when it is not controlled and managed properly, it gets out of control and turns destructive. It can lead to problems— problems in your personal relationships, at work, and in the overall quality of your life. We can do things we regret when we are angry. Ephesians 4:26 tells us, “In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.” Come learn how to switch off your anger temperament so you don’t sin when you get angry, or go to bed still angry. Our monthly anger management class meets with Dr. Bennett Annan, Ed.D., a National Anger Management Association (NAMA) certified anger management specialist, CAMS-I, and certified domestic violence specialist, CDVS-I. Classes are held on the first Wednesday of each month beginning August 3, 2016 from 7:00-9:00pm in room 11 of St. Rose of Lima School. Many more dangers of underage drinking are immediate, including alcohol poisoning, physical assault and poor decision making.
