that we all belong to the holy
family of God which makes us
brothers and sisters to each
other.
At Christmas this year, through your gifts, the

the joy and hope to our “brothers and sisters” who
are poor. Thank you for supporting Gift Giving
Sunday. Because of your generosity, Interfaith
Caring Ministries was able to brighten Christmas
for hundreds of area children.
May God bless you in the New Year.

It’s Flu and Cold Season!
To limit everyone’s exposure to this winter’s flu and colds,
we ask every parishioner to please follow these guidelines:
1 - If you are ill, stay home! If you are contagious, you
should not be around other people, including and especially
at Church, a closed environment where you could possibly
infect hundreds of other people with your germs or virus.
Contagious includes everything from a cough, sneezy,
phlegmy cold to the flu.
2 - If you are not feeling up to par but you are not sick
enough to stay home:
**do not hold hands during the Our Father;
**do not shake hands or hug other people at the Sign of
Peace – a smile and nod of the head with the words “The
Peace of the Lord be with you” will suffice;
**do not drink from the chalice of the Precious Blood;
**receive the Host in your hand, not on your tongue.
Show concern for your brothers and sisters in the
community, especially the elderly and chronically ill, and
follow these simple guidelines to ensure a healthier winter
for us all!

Sagrada Familia
mundo no creyente. En nuestros días, en un
mundo frecuentemente extraño e incluso hostil a

Because Our Faith is too rich and beautiful to have ever learned it ALL…
Contact Heidi Clark, Director of Adult Ministry, 281.333.3891, Ext. 328 or [email protected]
Adult faith formation at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church is centered around the understanding that living
“The Way” taught by Jesus Christ is a life-long, evolving journey, involving both effort and decision. To enable
adults to explore the faith and deepen their knowledge of God’s Word, we provide many opportunities to
come together in a learning environment. As a diverse community with a small parish feel, we know it is
important to walk that journey with others and to share what we have learned along the way.
Interested in being Catholic?
FTCM Coming to St. Paul
If you or someone you know is interested in learning more
about becoming Catholic, our RCIA program is just the
ticket! The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is a
process of prayer, reflection, and learning that allows for
the continual discernment of God's will. Contact Heidi
Clark, 281.333.3891 or [email protected].
The first semester of Formation Toward Christian Ministry
is coming to St. Paul just after the new year. This is an
excellent program that helps participants develop the
academic, spiritual, and critical reflection skills that they
need to fully answer their baptismal call to service. Who
should take FTCM? It’s open to all adults who seek a
greater understanding of their faith and is especially
designed for those who are active in ministry or are
discerning a call to ministry. Program Overview and
Courses: It is a 108-clock hour program that unfolds over
three semesters and results in catechist certification for
anyone who successfully completes the program. Classes
begin January 27, 2016, and will meet on Wednesday
evenings 7 to 9 PM. Each class session includes prayer,
content presentation and group dynamics. Each semester
also includes participation in a Day of Reflection as a
means to integrate content into daily living. A completion
ceremony, at which the Bishop presides, concludes the
three-semester course of study. The 108 clock hours of
FTCM consists of 90 hours of courses and 18 hours of
Days of Reflection. Course content includes the study of
Scripture, Doctrinal Theology, Liturgical Theology, Ethical

Thank you to all that participated in our
“Helping Tree”. Through Communities in
Schools, we adopted 5 families with 4 or
more children each, that would have otherwise not have had much of a Christmas. Each
child and parent had one or more items
purchased and wrapped for them. Some of
the items were needs, like clothing, and
some were desires, like toys. Communities in
Schools is an organization that helps out
lower income families all year long. This is
the ECP’s second year to get involved at
Christmas.
Thank you again for all of the generosity
shown by our ECP families and parishioners.

The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph
December 27, 2015
Merry Christmas and a Happy New
Year on behalf of Fr. Wencil, the clergy
and parish staff!
“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel . . . And you, O child, shall be called prophet of the Most
High; for you shall go before the Lord to prepare straight paths for him, giving his people a
knowledge of salvation in freedom from their sins. All this is the work of the kindness of our God; he,
the Dayspring, shall visit us in his mercy to shine on those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of
death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
Luke 1: 68-79

SOME WORKS PERFORMED: visit and pray the rosary with nursing home residents, homebound parishioners, and families receiving
the Pilgrim Virgin Statue; evangelize thru Book Borrow in front of St. Vincent de Paul offices and door-to-door; visit newly registered
parishioners and newly Baptized, etc. We must forget ourselves, our own comforts and desires and concentrate completely
on what we can do for others with the power of the Holy Spirit and the ministering help of Mary.
