Urbano parte de la desfragmentación en términos físicos, y lo hace desde la más
radical: La fusión como búsqueda del estado original de las cosas. Renacimiento.
Su obra es más bien ilusionista. El distintivo de su instalación y fotografías son los
efectos ópticos. Espejos, cristales, imágenes manipuladas, superficies, entre otros
recursos físicos y ópticos ayudan a evocar una atmósfera metafísica. En su trabajo se
descubren hermosas paradojas. “Urbano`s Landscape” es una serie de protectoras
pero frágiles pieles, de aspecto desértico. “Ice” es una pieza de vidrio fundido con
fuego.
La solidez y la fragilidad comparten un mismo espacio en estos extraños paisajes que
parecen escapar de la tierra. Ella habla del espíritu por medio de la física.

Urbano departs from defragmentation in physical terms, and the most radical one:
fusion in search of original sate of substance. Rebirth.
Urbano is an illusionist. Her installation and photographs are distinctive for their optical
effects. Mirrors, crystals, manipulated images, surfaces, among other physical/optical
resources help her in evoking a metaphysical atmosphere. Hers is a work of beautiful
paradoxes all along. “Urbano`s Landscape” is a desert-like series of protective but
fragile skins. “Ice” is a piece of glass founded with fire. Glass is used to create organiclike forms, while in previous works she used it like the opposite: recipients containing
creatures: Protection that hurts.
Solidity and fragility share room in these alien landscapes that are like escapes from
land. She talks of spirit by means of physics. Smelting glass is not a handy process.
However, Urbano`s hands take part in the final process of display of such crystal forms
on mirror paper. She arranges pieces on the floor looking for the most effective
locations for them. She walks the way back from illusory fusion to fragmentation.
