CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION
TODAY, SUNDAY, JUNE 2
Dear Friends,
It is with great joy and gratitude to God
that we congratulate Father Brendan
Bartlett on his upcoming ordination to
the Holy Priesthood on Saturday, June
8th in the Cathedral of Saint Thomas
More. Father Bartlett will celebrate his
First Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving here
at Saint Leo the Great next Sunday,
June 9th at 11am.
A reception will follow in the school gym. Please pray for
Father Bartlett as he answers God’s call to serve His
people. All are welcome to come and celebrate this graced
day for our parish.
Pray also for all our priests,
most especially (of course) Father
Baez and me. Father Baez
celebrates his 8th anniversary on
June 11 and I celebrated my 24th
anniversary on May 20. Pray that
we may grow in holiness and zeal in
service to Christ and His Body,
which is you, the Church.
To live in the midst of the world
with no desire for its pleasures;
to be a member of every family
yet belonging to none;
to share all sufferings;
to penetrate all secrets,
to heal all wounds;
to daily go from men to God
to offer Him their homage and petitions;
to return from God to men
to bring them His pardon and hope;
to have a heart of fire for charity
and a heart of bronze for chastity;
to bless and to be blest forever.
O God, what a life, and it is yours,
O Priest of Jesus Christ!
Jean-Baptist Henri Lacordaire, O.P. (1802-1861)
In Christ,
Rev. David A. Whitestone, Pastor
Saint Leo’s beautiful traditional
procession on the Feast of Corpus
Christi (Body of Christ) will take place
today, Sunday, June 2nd. At the
conclusion of the 11am Mass, the
congregation will march in prayerful
procession, led by the Blessed
Sacrament, to three different outdoor
altars prepared by various parish groups, where songs and
Benediction will take place.
Please join in this celebration.
