SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM:
We celebrate this sacrament on the 2nd & 4th Sunday of each month at Nativity and the 2nd & 3rd Sundays at St. Stanislaus
(must have original birth certificate). Please call the Rectory to make arrangements.
SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE:
Parishioners who are intending to marry must contact the Rectory at least six months before the date on
which they wish to marry to begin their pre-marital preparation for this sacred event in their lives.
ANYONE WHO INTENDS TO RECEIVE THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM OR MATRIMONY
MUST BE A PARISHIONER WITH ENVELOPES (FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS) .
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION:
This Sacrament is offered every Saturday from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Nativity only.
For confession at other times please contact one of the priests, for an appointment.
SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING OF THE SICK:
Please notify a priest whenever anyone is seriously ill and wishes to receive this special sacrament.
Anyone can receive this sacrament on the First Saturday of each month during the 9:00 AM Mass at Nativity BVM

Viento y fuego en Pentecostes
Nuestro Señor Jesucristo les promete a sus discípulos que el Espíritu Santo será para ellos un Consolador, un Espíritu de
verdad.
Evangelio Según San Juan 20, 19-23. Al anochecer del día de la resurrección, estando cerradas las puertas de la casa donde
se hallaban los discípulos, por miedo a los judíos, se presentó Jesús en medio de ellos y les dijo: “La paz esté con ustedes”.
Dicho esto, les mostró las manos y el costado. Cuando los discípulos vieron al Señor, se llenaron de alegría. De nuevo les
dijo Jesús: “La paz esté con ustedes. Como el Padre me ha enviado, así también los envió yo”.
Después de decir esto, sopló sobre ellos y les dijo: “Reciban el Espíritu Santo. A los que les perdonen los pecados, les quedarán perdonados; y a los que no se los perdonen, les quedarán sin perdonar”.
Los ministerios de DIOS desbordan de tal manera nuestra capacidad de comprensión que ha surgido con frecuencia en las
diversas culturas el pensamiento pesimista de que nunca le podremos conocer. De hecho, quienes declaran la imposibilidad
de conocer a DIOS, que se llaman agnósticos, han encementado las bases del modo de vida que algunos se llaman moderno.
La fiesta de hoy, sin embargo, nos habla del regalo de la Iglesia del Espíritu Santo en Pentecostés, Espíritu de la vida
que reparte sus dones generosamente, dones de sabiduría y ciencia, inteligencia y consejo entre otros. Es decir, se nos ha
comunicado el espíritu de verdad, el que puede constituirse en brújula de nuestra libertad y alma de nuestro vivir y de nuestro
crecer.
Siendo el Espíritu del Señor en sí mismo inefable, se nos da a conocer en Pentecostés como el ruido de un viento fuerte,
como una lengua de fuego posada sobre las cabezas ( viento y fuego ). Antes, por ejemplo, en el bautismo del Señor se
había vuelto asequible a nuestros sentidos tomando forma de paloma, símbolo de paz. Por lo que cabe pensar que el estruendo de Pentecostés no tiene por objeto causar susto y miedo, como ante el despliegue de un poder temible. Quizá significa más bien un enérgico llamado de atención, un cambio realmente de época, una instancia que se repite en la historia personal de cristiano como un golpe de gracia quiere sacarlos de la pasividad como la lengua de fuego, precisamente sobre la
cabeza, implica la quema de toda la basura en ella almacenada, la luz de la verdad que infunde el calor de un amor que enciende como Dios sabe hacerlo.
En el momento de la ascensión Jesús desaparece de la vista de los apóstoles, para estar presente de otro modo, mas intimo,
no fuera sino dentro de ellos. Sucede como en la Eucaristía; mientras la hostia esta fuera de nosotros la vemos, la adoramos, cuando la recibimos ya no la vemos, ha desaparecido, para estar adentro de nosotros, de una manera más intima, más
personal, haciéndonos más fuertes en el Espíritu, en el consolador, de quien recibimos los dones que Dios nos ha regalado,
lo que nos compromete como Cristianos bautizados a ser esos Cristos en la tierra, a seguir el camino que siguió Jesús, el del
amor sin condiciones, solo así seremos los Cristos que Dios quiere.
