SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM:
We celebrate this sacrament on the 2nd & 4th Sunday of each month at Nativity and the 2nd & 3rd Sundays at St. Stanislaus
(must have original birth certificate an must be a parishioners (receive envelopes for at least 6months).
Please call the Rectory to make arrangements.
SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE:
Parishioners who are intending to marry must contact the Rectory at least six months before the date on
which they wish to marry to begin their pre-marital preparation for this sacred event in their lives.
ANYONE WHO INTENDS TO RECEIVE THE SACRAMENT OR MATRIMONY MUST BE A PARISHIONER WITH ENVELOPES
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION:
This Sacrament is offered every Saturday from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Nativity only.
For confession at other times please contact one of the priests, for an appointment.
SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING OF THE SICK:
Please notify a priest whenever anyone is seriously ill and wishes to receive this special sacrament.
Anyone can receive this sacrament on the First Saturday of each month during the 9:00 AM Mass at Nativity BVM
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION OFFICE:
This office provides for the Religious formation, and also the sacramental preparation for children of our parish who
wish to receive First Penance, First Eucharist and Confirmation must be a parishioner (receive envelopes.)

2013 Annual Catholic Appeal
Nativity of the BVM/St. Stanislaus B&M is once
again please to participate in the Brooklyn diocesan
Annual Catholic Appeal.
Our goal for this year is $58,850.
To date our Parish has achieved :
Pledged $50,155- 85.2%
Received $42,646– 72.5%
Donors 260 –26.9% of Parishioners

We wish to make a necessary reminder that even with
the warm weather of summer here, one should dress
appropriately for Mass. Short shorts , tank tops, tube
tops , belly blouses , flip flops etc. Are considered
beach wear and should not be worn to church.

RCIT Rite of Christian Initiation of Teens
RCIT is the process in which a teen(13 and
older) is brought into the Catholic faith and is
received into the Church. The program prepares one for all the sacraments; Baptism,
First Communion and Confirmation or the of
sacraments they have not yet completed.
There is no charge for this program.

RCIA Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
RCIA is the process by which an Adult
(18years or older) is brought into the Catholic
faith and is received into the Church,
by Baptism. Communion and Confirmation.
The Program also welcomes adults who were
Baptized, but did not complete their
Sacraments of Initiation of First Communion
and / or Confirmation.

2013 Great Irish Fair of New York
Come one Come All to the 2013 Great Irish Fair of New
York sponsored by The Irish American Building Society
Charities (IABSC). Lots of delicious food, music and
various vendors. Admission to the Fair is $12.00 for
adults and children age 12 and under are free. 100% of all
net proceeds from this Great Irish Fair will go to support
Brooklyn/Queens Diocesan Elementary Schools. It will

El Buen Samaritano Lucas 10, 25-37
Jesús relaciona la ley con el amor concreto al prójimo maltratado. El mo-delo de prójimo
presentado por al doctor de la ley es muy significativo, en cuanto que para Jesús prójimo
no es el que pertenece al pueblo de Israel, sino todo ser humano que se encuentre en una
situación adversa. Ése es el prójimo, por encima de todo tipo de prejuicio, y en él se
concretiza el manda-miento del amor a Dios y al prójimo.
La historia del buen samaritano nos enseña que la ley de Dios está al alcance de todos,
pronunciada por los labios y vivida en el corazón; practicada en la celebración liturgia, y
concretizada en la aper-tura al ser humano desfigurado en su dignidad, en sus derechos, en su exis
-tencia. Cumplir la ley es un asunto de humanidad, pues se trata de abrir las manos, los ojos y el
corazón a las muchas necesidades de las personas. Ir de en búsqueda de un ser caído y necesitado
de gestos de ternura y misericordia, otorgados con respeto y dignidad, empeñando en ello lo mejor
de sí mismo.
Historia del buen samaritano – La torpeza del doctor de la ley
El doctor de la ley que hoy trae el evangelio en la historia del buen samaritano cometió por dos
veces la misma torpeza. Primero preguntó sobre la forma de conseguir la vida eterna. El Señor le
respondió con otra pregunta que no podía esquivar porque entraba en el campo de los
conocimientos característicos de un escriba: ¿qué es lo que está escrito en la ley?, ¿qué lees en
ella?’. El hombre replicó sin vacilar con el enunciado de la ley del amor a Dios y al próximo. ‘Has
contestado bien, le dijo el Señor, si haces eso, vivirás’.
En la historia del buen samaritano vemos que el escriba insistió en preguntar, para saber quién era
su prójimo. Ahí el Señor explicó la luminosa parábola del buen samaritano y le devolvió otra vez la
pregunta para que él mismo dijera cómo se manifiesta el amor al prójimo. Otra vez fue correcta la
respuesta del escriba, se trata de tener compasión con el que sufre necesidad.
Cuando alguien pregunta de tal manera que la respuesta es evidente, queda claro que faltó
inteligencia al hacerla, era una pregunta obvia. Pero a veces hacerse el tonto es una táctica
deliberada, ordinariamente empleada con fines de sentirnos mejor. Es claro, concretamente, que
no cabe hacerse el ignorante sobre las luces y las orientaciones que cada cristiano tiene para su
vida y que se resumen en amar a Dios y al prójimo. Mi querido hermano y hermana no hace falta ser
teólogos especializados. Ya dijo el Señor en boca de Moisés que ‘todos mis mandamientos están
muy a tu alcance, en tu boca y en tu corazón, para que puedas cumplirlos’. En la historia del buen
samaritano vemos que todos y cada uno podemos conocer fácilmente lo que Dios nos pide y
estamos en capacidad de cumplirlo.
