Page 3 August 21, 2016 BLESSED MOTHER THERESA PASTOR’S REFLECTION Twenty First Sunday in Ordinary Time August 21, 2016 Dear Friends, Faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ calls us to a way of life and behavior… so that when people see and hear us they can see, hear and encounter Jesus. That is the difference between life and lip service. What discipline can I take on today so that my life ad lips proclaim “I follow Jesus Christ, the way, the truth and the life?” Don’t bite of more than you can chew. Let God help you reinforce success rather than failure. “Is my lip service backed up by my “life service”? Take time to refresh the life of the Spirit that has been given you. Then witness your faith like disciples and believers throughout the ages. Be assured of my prayers for you and for your dear ones. May the good Lord bless you with wisdom and peace. Please pray for me. In Christ, Msgr. Pablo A. Navarro UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN Msgr. Navarro will celebrate the Holy Eucharist with all widows and widowers In remembrance of their departed husbands and wives. Family members and friends are welcome. Following Mass we will have a covered dish dinner in RH-Room A Friday, September 9 at 6:00 p.m. In the Chapel Please contact Beverly Loftus 305-613-4964 or email [email protected] For more information and coordination of dinner menu. Please drop off your food in Room A before Mass. PopeFrancis@ pontifex A society made up of different cultures must seek unity in respect Catholic Parish of St. John Neumann Beloved by believers and non believers around the world, Mother Theresa has been named as one of “the most admired women of the world.” While her appeal is broad-based, the reasons that she is so loved all stem from her own radical, unwavering love and commitment to Jesus and the Gospel. We can learn from her great example of love: Her love was inclusive. Although she was completely orthodox in her faith, she served the poor of all religions, equally and without distinction. Am I willing to treat all people with dignity and respect, even those who do not share my beliefs? She was willing to become personally involved with those in need. Am I willing to “get my hands dirty” by working at a mission, soup kitchen, or pro-life center? She was an instrument of peace, and she radiated God’s joy in all she said and did. How can I find more joy in my life, and how can I share that with others? She was a messenger of hope and mercy for the entire world. In what ways do I extend mercy to my family, friends, co-workers, and even strangers? Holy Mass and Canonization of Mother Teresa of Calcutta is scheduled to take place on September 4 and will be live streamed by CTV . You may also find all the broadcast Information in the following page http://www.ctv.va/ content/ctv/it/worldtelecast/mondovisione-settembre2016.htmlo. PRAYER FOR PROTECTION AGAINST STORMS God Our Father, You set the earth on its foundation. Keep us safe from the danger of hurricanes and storms and let us always feel the presence of Your love. May we be secure in Your protection and serve You with grateful hearts. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen. Oh, Mary conceived without sin, Pray for us who have recourse to you.
