Pastor’s Corner
Notas Del Padre
A veces
impactar nuestra parroquia y nuestra comunidad.
I am reading a pastoral letter by the United
States Bishops entitled Stewardship: a Disciples’
Response. Typically when I hear the word
Stewardship I think of the 3 T’s – Time, Talent and
Treasure. These are concrete means to sharing one’s
gifts with the parish and local community. But the
premise of this document goes deeper. The letter
states, “Stewardship is an expression of discipleship,
with the power to change how we understand and live
out our lives.” Stewardship is way of life which
leads us to a greater transformation. If we make the
decision to be disciples of Jesus Christ, stewardship is
the way we reveal that we are followers of Christ.
The letter continues, “Mature disciples make a
conscious, firm decision, carried out in action, to be
followers of Jesus Christ no matter the cost to
themselves.”
This is rich food for reflection. Sometimes I
think we can go through life and do not reflect on our
relationship with God and who we are as Catholic
Christians. Each morning I want to make a
conscious, firm decision to follow Jesus Christ. I
want to become a mature disciple. As your pastor, I
desire that we as a parish family can mature together
as disciples of Christ. In doing so, we can experience
an individual transformation and this transformation
will impact our parish and our community.
I encourage you to read this document for
your own reflection. You can find it online. Our
parish council will be meeting this week and I hope to
work with them this year to provide strategies and
opportunities to live everyday stewardship. I will
close with a Scripture quote from 1 Peter 4:10. “As
each one has received a gift, use it to serve one
another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”
Que tengas una buena semana.
Padre Keith
Have a great week.

Note From Parish Nurses
In 2004, the Parish Nurses instituted a CPR (Cardiopulmonary
Resuscitation) and Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) Program.
The Parish purchased two defibrillators and sponsored CPR/AED
(Automated External Defibrillator) classes with the American
Heart Association. The classes are every two years for
recertification. We are in the process of recertification.
A class was held in July and another will be in September. We
will be contacting those who need to be recertified. There will
be a class in October for those wishing to take the class who
have never been certified. Please contact the Parish Office if
you are interested. Our AED is located in the Parish Center on
the wall across from the Sacristy hallway entrance.
