Fitz relative to a few items of interest: Our parish Grand Annual Collection will be held this weekend, October 31-November 1. You should have received information in the mail relative to the collection. The Grand annual collection is the largest single source of revenue for our parish. Please pray about your commitment to supporting the many spiritual, corporal, and material needs of your parish. All Souls envelopes are available at the doors of the church for remembrance of loved ones during the month of November. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ It’s not too late!!! Is the Lord calling you to something more? Have you thought about becoming Catholic? If your answer to these questions is “yes,” then the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is for you! The program is also for people who may have been baptized Catholic but never received First Communion or Confirmation. Each week after the 11:15 AM Mass on Sunday, RCIA classes are being offered here at St. Columbkille. They occur in the rectory from 12:30 to 1:30PM each week until Holy Week. All are welcome to join in praying. 3 St. Columbkille Parish Brighton, MA Day of Recollection sponsored by the Catholic Daughters will be held on Saturday, November 7. The day will begin with the 9:00 Mass in the lower church and then proceed to the St. Columbkille School cafeteria. Deacon Tom Olson will speak on Ignatian Prayer Exercises and give a demonstration. There will be a boxed lunch followed by the recitation of the Rosary using the methods learned in the morning. The day will end with the opportunity for Confession in the lower church at 3:00 pm. Open to all women and men. The cost is $15.00 to cover the lunch. On the third Wednesday of each month thereafter, the Young Adult Commission will sponsor Eucharistic Adoration at which confession will also be available. Each month’s Adoration will include prayers and intentions that correspond to a particular theme, many of which will be related to Catholic Social Teaching. November’s theme is vocations. Interested to learn to dance, but not having the time or the space to do so? Looking to unlock your inner dancer? Join the St. Columbkille Young Adult Commission for a night of Salsa dancing! Salsa dancing is a mixture of various Cuban dance forms originating from the dance halls of New York City. Come join us for a night of fellowship, food, and Salsa (sans the chips)! We will begin with potluck dinner at the residence of Fernando Limbo at 8 Colliston Road, Apt. 3 Brighton, MA and then carpool to Havana Club in Cambridge for a Salsa lesson and then dance the night away on the evening of Friday, November 13th. Cost of entry is $12 a person. This is a great opportunity to meet and have fun with fellow YACs and the Boston Salsa community! A cash bar will be available. RSVPs required. C.S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters is a much-beloved satiric masterpiece. The book is a very funny yet very serious meditation on the temptation to sin and on how to overcome it. Meetings will take place in the Lower Church on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. running weekly until Thanksgiving. We will begin each session by reading aloud the week's 'letter.' You do not need your own copy of the book, but it could only help to read the chapters ahead of time. El curso de metodologia se estara dando en el centro pastoral 66 Brooks st. Braintree Nov. 17, 24 y Dic. 1, 8, de 6:30 pm. a 8:30 pm. La contribucion es de $25.00. La parroquia pide a la comunidad que por favor se comuniquen con la oficina por si necesitan pedir una misa para sus seres queridos que han fallecido o cualquier otra intencion y traer su donativo a la oficina dela iglesia. Los Adultos que les haga falta algun sacramento de iniciacion Cristiana (Bautismo,Primera communion, Confirmacion) tienen la oportunidad de prepararse aqui en la parroquia todos los domingos de 10:30 am. A las 12:15 interesados hablar con Edio Galvez. Los Viernes tenemos la hora santa a las 6:00 pm. y la misa a las 7:00 pm. estan cordialmente invitados. La clase de Dogma se esta dando todos los lunes a las 7:00 pm. en la rectoria de la iglesia y la clase de Biblia los Jueves en el mismo lugar y hora. El grupo de jovenes se reune todos los domingos a las 3:00 pm, en la iglesia de abajo jovenes interesados hablar con Any Juarez, Andres Zavala, Jose Salguero.
