Each month Dynamic Catholic will be offering FREE CDS or books by different speakers and authors. This month’s free CD is The Jesus Question. Some will say, I already know Jesus. Here is a bigger question - does Jesus know you? On Saturday, September 3rd, after the 5:15 PM Mass, a partial distribution of The Jesus Question will be given out to those who ask, reserving a supply for the other Masses. CHURCH HUMOR! A little girl was in church with her mother when she started feeling sick. “Mommy,” she said, “can we leave now?” “No,” her mother replied. “Well, I think I’m going to be sick!” Then go out the front door and around to the back of the church and throw up behind a bush.” After about a minute, the little girl returned to her seat. “Did you throw up?” her mother asked. “Yes.” “How could you have gone all the way to the back of the church and returned so quickly?” “I didn’t have to go out of the church, Mommy. PLEASE PATRONIZE OUR ADVERTISERS At the heart of our Faith Formation Program is the dedication of our Catechists (teachers) and aides and their willingness to share their faith with the children and youth of St. Aloysius. Every week, we need 70 catechists and aides for our Faith Formation Program. We are VERY BLESSED AND EXTREMELY GRATEFUL to those who have already volunteered to be catechists. 70% of our catechists return year after year and we couldn’t do it without them. BUT…Classes start on Sunday, September 11 or Wednesday, September 14 and we are still in need of volunteers for both days and all grade levels. If you think God might be calling you to this rewarding ministry, please call Monica Ebelhack at 828-3272341 for more information or for any questions you might have. Thank you in advance! If you would like to register your child, please use the Faith Formation registration form and write in “Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.” R.C.I.A. or “How Does One Become a Catholic”? Many Catholics are born into Catholic families and gradually come to share in the full sacramental life of the Church. Others, who have been previously baptized in a non-Catholic Christian Church, have become Catholics after participating in a formation process that leads to a profession of faith and the celebration of the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. And some, never baptized, are initiated through a formation process that leads to the celebrations of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. All sacraments are celebrated at the Easter Vigil celebrated by the Catholic community. The Catholic Church warmly welcomes new members and tries to provide an atmosphere of spiritual formation according to each person's needs. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the Church's way of initiating new members. Our new year of R.C.I.A. sessions will begin on Wednesday, September 14. We meet from 7:00 to 8:15 PM in the Parlor. If interested, or if you have any questions, please call Monica Ebelhack at the parish office – 828-327-2341 or email: [email protected] . NEXT MONTH Our annual flip flop drive will be during the month of September. This is a good time to get some on sale – Fred’s Store in Bethlehem on Highway 127 has currently marked theirs down to $1.00. Remember, only flip flops for adults this year are needed. Questions?
