Sunday Reflection
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
What a blessed week we have had as a Church! Our Holy Father has visited and has canonized a
new saint – St. Junipero Serra. Having brought the faith to California, Father Serra lived out that
call of evangelization in spreading the Gospel message to all. I encourage us all to follow in his
footsteps recognizing the importance sharing the Word of God to all. In that Franciscan spirit of
evangelization, let us remember the words of St. Francis, “Preach the Gospel and if necessary,
use words.”
We welcome Fr. Victor Oluchivico to our parish. Fr. Victor will be in residence at OLP with his primary ministry being
chaplain at the Northridge Medical Center. He will assist with the sacraments within our parish community. Please give
Fr. Victor a warm OLP welcome.
Within our bulletin this week is our financial report for our parish and school for the 2014-2015 fiscal year. Thank you
all for the support that you have given us. Your generosity allows us to continue our ministry and programs for our parish and the North Hills community.
One more week until Fiesta!!!! Can you feel the excitement? Raffle tickets are still available and the first prize will include the option of $5,000 cash or $10,000 towards a car courtesy of Galpin Ford. This will be your last chance to buy
presale ride and food tickets. Get them while they last. Come out each of the days and watch some amazing entertainment ranging from our grade school students singing and dancing, to culture dances by our Vietnamese community, to
special surprise performances which you just have to be present to see. There will be a lot going on from food, rides,
new games, a dunk tank, face painting, etc. This is the GO-TO event of the year. Don’t miss out and bring your family
and friends. Please note that mass will go on as normal. Parking will be limited to the south lot only. Please look into
parking in the neighborhood and walking to allow parking for our older parishioners. God bless all.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo,
Qué semana tan bendecida hemos tenido como Iglesia! Nuestro Santo Padre ha visitado y ha canonizado un nuevo santoSan Junípero Serra. Habiendo traído la fe a California, el Padre Serra vivió ese llamado de evangelización propagando el
mensaje del Evangelio para todos. Yo invito a que sigamos sus pasos reconociendo la importancia de compartir la
Palabra de Dios a todos. En ese espíritu Franciscano de evangelización, recordemos las palabras de San Francisco, “
Prediquen el Evangelio y si es necesario usen palabras.”
Le damos la bienvenida al Padre Victor Oluchuvico a nuestra parroquia. El Padre Victor estará en residencia en Nuestra
Señora de la Paz siendo su principal ministerio capellán en el Centro Médico Northridge. El ayudara con los sacramentos
en nuestra comunidad. Por favor una cálida bienvenida al Padre Victor.
En nuestro boletín de esta semana encontraran nuestro reporte financiero de nuestra parroquia y nuestra escuela
parroquial par el año fiscal 2014-2015. Gracias a todos ustedes por el apoyo que nos han brindado. Su generosidad nos
