He noticed that there were a lot of people there. He stopped by and entered the shop. When he entered the shop, a huge banner greeted him saying, "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!" He realized that he had forgotten this day and he remembered his mom who lived two miles away. So he approached the owner and said, "I want you to give me the most expensive flowers in this shop. I want my mother to have the most expensive flowers!" The owner gave him the best flowers. The business man said that the shop was to deliver the flowers to his mother who lived two miles away. He left the shop in a very good mood. When he was out of the shop, he noticed a six year old boy who was crying outside. He approached the child and asked, "What's wrong, boy? Why are you crying?" The boy answered, "I want to buy my mother that flower." He pointed at the cheapest flower in the flower shop. "But it costs 30 pesos. I only have 24 pesos. I can't afford it." The child sobbed. The man thought that the child's intention was sweet. And he wondered how lucky the child's mother was for having such a thoughtful son. So he told the child, "Now, now, hush. I will buy that flower for you and you can keep your money." So, the business man bought the cheapest flower for the distressed boy. The child's face was flustered with happiness. The business man offered to drive the six year old boy to his mother when he knew that the boy planned to walk two miles to reach his mother. While he was driving, he noticed that the road led away from the town. He was shocked when the boy said that he be dropped in a Catholic cemetery. The business man accompanied the boy who went to visit his mother's grave. Proudly, the boy placed his flower neatly on his mother's grave. He said, "Look Mama, I brought you some flowers. Even if you're not here to celebrate mother's day, I will celebrate it for you. I am here personally to give you this flower, Happy Mother's Day!" The business man was touched by a mere boy's actions. He was reminded of his own mother who only lived two miles away from the flower shop. He went back to the flower shop and asked the owner of the flowers he had bought. He exclaimed, "Owner! Please give me my flowers; I'm going to give them to my mother myself. And inspired by the boy, he went to his mother to spend the day with her. "Mama," he said. "I am here personally to give you the best flowers, Happy Mother's Day!" Sometimes, we forget our mothers while they are alive. Let us not wait for the day that they can no longer receive our gifts before we give them. During this month of May, we remember and celebrate not only our mothers, but most especially our Blessed Mother. For those, who like me, whose mom has passed to eternal life, remember you still have a mother, Mary, our Blessed Mother. She has been, is now, and always will be there for you. Perhaps this Mother’s Day, bring a flower not only to your mom, but also to our Blessed Mother! On Behalf of the Redemptorist Community and Staff of St. Mary’s Happy Mother’s Day! St. Mary’s Parish Community Pillar Ranger Rosary My Rosary Beads A little prayer of rosary beads as plain as plain can be, but only God in heaven knows how dear they are to me. I have them always with me, at every step I take, at evening when I slumber, at morning when I awake, in bright and cloudy weather, in sunshine or in rain, in happiness or in sorrow, in pleasure or in pain. It helps me in my struggle, It reproves me when in sin, its look of gentle patience, rebukes the strife within. In days of pain and anguish, the greatest help I know, was to hold my rosary beads, until I calmer grow. So when the time approaches, when I will have to die, I hope my little rosary beads, will close beside me lie. That the holy name of Jesus, May be the last I say, and kissing my sweet rosary beads, my soul may pass away. Annapolis, Maryland Parish Library Habitat News In "God is Near Us," Pope Benedict XVI shows us the biblical, historical, and theological dimensions of the Eucharist. He draws far-reaching conclusions, focusing on the importance of one's personal devotion to and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and on the personal reception of Communion by the individual Christian. For the author, any transformation of the world on the social plane also grows out of the celebration of the Eucharist. He beautifully illustrates how the omnipotent God and Creator comes intimately close to us in the Holy Eucharist, the Heart of Life. A veces olvidamos a nuestras madres mientras estan vivas. Dios Nos Bendiga a Todos Pe.
