Special Collection Next Week: Next Sunday is World Mission Sunday, a day set aside for Catholics worldwide to recommit themselves to the
Church’s missionary activity through prayer and sacrifice. The needs of the Catholic Church’s missions are
growing as new dioceses are formed, new seminaries
are opened, and as areas devastated by war, natural disaster, or political suppression are rebuilt. Approximately 1,150 mission dioceses receive regular annual
assistance from funds cl0olllected through this special
appeal. Special envelopes are available for your use.

Coffee Hour #1: Our regular coffee hour takes
place in Fitzgerald Hall immediately after the conclusion of the Sunday 8:15 Mass. Correction to last
week's bulletin: Coffee hour this week will be hosted
by Lectors & Eucharistic Ministers. Next week the
Knights will be holding their Pancake Breakfast!
Coffee Hour #2: For a limited time, a SECOND
coffee hour and GOURMET bake sale will be available to parishioners after the conclusion of Sunday
10:30 Masses; proceeds will be used to host a “Free
Fall Festival” on October 27 for our parish families
(see announcement below). For further information,

Free Fall Festival: A Fall Festival for parish
families will be held on October 27 from 11-3 PM,
followed by a family movie from 3-5 PM in Fitzgerald
Hall. It’s a FREE event—drinks & snacks provided!
 Garden Aestheticians: The six member
garden ministry is looking for volunteers to help trim
bushes, eradicate weeds, & deadhead blossoms. Call
Dan Quinn (589-1909) if you would like to help.
Craftsy? The Altar Society and the Catholic Ladies
Relief Society (CLRS) are having the St. Thomas Annual Bazaar Nov. 17 and 18. As usual we need your
help. We are in need of new handcrafted items.

 Nov. 24th (DATE & TIME CHANGE!) – Fall Mall
& Taco Bar Luncheon in Fitzgerald Hall & Community Center 10:00-4:00 PM
Other Notes:
 The school is in need of volunteers in the classrooms. Correcting papers, working one on one or in
small groups with the students.
 Our 5th & 6th grade students have the opportunity
to attend Outdoor School, Nov. 5-8. This event will
cost $216 per student. Our parents and students are
doing fundraising to help with the cost of this so
that all students can attend. If you would like to
donate to this event, you may send a check into the
school office for any amount. Your contribution
would be greatly appreciated, and is tax deductible.
A contribution receipt will be sent directly to you
from the school office.
TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE
Existe en Perú un mural milagroso de la Pasión de
Jesucristo. Esta imagen reconocida como el Señor de los
Milagros, el Cristo Moreno o el Cristo de Pachacamilla
fue pintada por un angoleño en el siglo XVII para una
cofradía de africanos. A mitad del siglo un fuerte terremoto sacudió a Lima y las paredes de la cofradía se
cayeron, sin que se dañara el mural. Eventualmente la
imagen se reveló como milagrosa para los que oraban
delante de ella.
En la imagen aparece Jesús crucificado. Sobre Él el
Espíritu Santo y el Padre. A la derecha de la cruz está su
Madre con el corazón traspasado por una lanza y a su
derecha, el fiel discípulo amado. Esta imagen es venerada como el Señor de los Milagros. Sin saberlo el
artista angoleño ha pintado una reflexión teológica sobre la divinidad y la humanidad de Jesucristo. En su
pasión redentora Jesús abre las puertas del cielo y de la
comunicación entre el cielo y la tierra, entre Dios y la
humanidad representada por la Madre y el discípulo.

49er Football Fans: We have exciting news!
We are having a Raffle for two separate games @ $20
per raffle ticket. The raffle includes passes for four
seats and a parking pass, valued at over $200 each
game. There will only be 100 chances sold for each
game. Come into the office and buy them while they
last! Games as follows:
