SERVICES FUND
Easter Flower Donations! Donations are being
accepted for Easter flowers to be used in church
during the Easter season. You can make a donation in the name of a loved one, living or deceased. Envelopes for donations are available
in the vestibule of the church and can be placed in the collection basket or dropped off at the office.
Corpus Christi Catholic Church Council of Catholic Women is accepting donations for a "Baby
Shower for Catholic Charities." We are asking for
donations to help provide for new mothers and babies. Small and large NEW gifts are very welcome!
Suggested items include disposable diapers, baby
formula, blankets, onesies, baby bottles, bibs, bath
items, baby food…anything an infant might need! We
demonstrate our respect for life by helping out new mothers and
their babies. Please drop off items at Eymard Center before
April 6. Or, bring your donations and join us at our meeting on
April 6 at 9:30 a.m. in Prefontaine Hall. We would love for you
to be there!
Adoration Schedule – Please note that on Good Friday and
Easter Monday, there will be no regularly scheduled adoration.
Adoration in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel will resume on
Wednesday, April 7.
Knights of Columbus Council 12385 News – At a recent KC
Corporate Mass and family dinner, Manny Cruz was named
Knight of the Year. Fellow KC member, Jeff Techmanski, his
wife, Terri, and sons, Ryan and Ross, were named KC Family
of the Year. Congratulations to Manny, Jeff, and their families
for this prestigious honor, recognizing their service and ministry
to the Knights of Columbus and our parish.
Operation Rice Bowl continues throughout the season of Lent.
Put your faith into action. Reach out in solidarity and communion with our brothers and sisters who struggle with hunger and
poverty. This year’s program features the people of Nicaragua,
Ethiopia, Lesotho, Bolivia, Afghanistan and the United States.
Take a Rice Bowl and learn more about the people and projects
served through Operation Rice Bowl, a Lenten program of
Catholic Relief Services. Rice Bowls will be collected at the end
of the Lenten season.
The Diocesan Services Fund campaign continues;
your support is greatly needed. Our parish goal for
this year is $62,000. To date, 95 parishioners have
pledged $30,000. We are in need of additional pledges totaling
$32,219 to achieve our goal. With every parish family’s full participation, we strive to meet our goal and do our share to help so
many in need, advancing the work of the church in our community. To donate online, please use www.archgh.org/dsf.
VIRTUS Training Program Offered – Sunday, April 18
The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston promotes safe environment training and practices through the institution of the VIRTUS training workshops. All adults volunteering or working with
children in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston are required
to have VIRTUS training.
Corpus Christi Catholic Parish will sponsor its next VIRTUS
workshop on Sunday, April 18, 2010 in English only. Doors will
open for check-in at 5:00 pm and the presentation will begin
promptly at 5:30pm at which time the doors will be closed.
Please enter through the school cafeteria from the south side
parking lot for check-in. Please bring a pen for registration paperwork and workbook activities.
All participants are asked to pre-register online by going to
www.virtus.org and clicking on registration. For participants who
do not have internet access, call Stella Rivera in the church
office at 713-667-0497. The campus is wheelchair accessible.

Liturgy Survey! Please participate in the short survey about
our parish liturgical celebrations. The Parish Liturgy Commission invites your input for future planning. You may access the

The survey is published in print and on-line in Spanish and English. We look forward to your participation in the survey! Surveys must be submitted by March 31.
United States 2010 Census - The Census questionnaire is
being shortened to a quick 10-question survey. In 10 minutes,
these 10 questions will define the United States of America.
The census is a count of everyone residing in the United States,
both citizens and non citizens, as required by the Constitution.
Your participation helps determine congressional districts, federal funding for community programs and new construction of
highways, hospitals, and other facilities. Questionnaires will
begin arriving in March 2010 either by mail or hand delivery. All
answers are confidential and protected by federal law. Please
complete and return the form by Census Day, April 1, 2010.

Parish Easter Egg Hunt - Sunday, April 4
We are kindly asking for candy and plastic eggs
donations for the Easter Egg Hunt that will be held
on April 4th at 10:15 am. Filled Easter baskets are
also ideal donations. Donations for the Egg Hunt can be
dropped off in the Parish Office or the School Office.
YOUTH GROUP NEWS
YOUTH GROUP MOVIE NIGHT - We will be having a High
School movie night on Friday night, March 26 in the Gym. All
high school students are invited to join in the fun!
REGULAR YOUTH NIGHTS are held in the gym after 5:00
Mass on Saturday nights. Make plans to join us and get to
know the other youth in our parish!
ATTENTION ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS —
(Incoming Freshmen – Outgoing Seniors) - Don't
miss out on the Archdiocesan Youth Conference to
be held July 30 - August 1. The Corpus Christi Youth Group is
making plans now to take as many of our High School students
as possible to represent our parish at this gathering of over
2,000 high schoolers from across the diocese.
Information and registration packets can be picked up from the
church office, or downloaded from the archdiocesan website
www.archgh.org. If you are interested in attending, please fill
out the form, and turn it in to the parish office by Monday,

The Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament
are holding Days of Discernment for women expressing an

There will be NO Sunday morning CCE this week or next in
observance of Spring Break. We will have class again on Sunday, March 28, April 11, 18, and the last class on May 2.
First Communion Interviews are scheduled for April 11 and
12. Rehearsal will begin in the cafeteria at 7:00 pm Thursday,
April 15. First Communion will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April
17. Please pray for all our First Communicants and their families as they prepare to receive Our Lord in the Eucharist. May
this be the first Eucharist on a wonderful journey growing ever
closer to the Heart of God in Holy Communion.
INFANT BAPTISM classes for parents begin at 7:00 pm Monday, April 12. Please call the office to register. The Baptism
will be celebrated at the 5:00 Mass on Saturday, May 15. This
is for Baptism of children who are newborns and up to age 7.
ADULTS SEEKING CONFIRMATION may contact Susie Way
at the parish office to inquire about preparation classes in our
area beginning soon. Catholic adults celebrate Confirmation at
Pentecost in our archdiocese each year.

Donaciones de Flores de Pascua – Donaciones
para las donaciones para las flores de Pascua se
están aceptando durante este tiempo de Cuaresma. Usted puede hacer una donación en nombre
de un ser querido, ya sea vivo o difunto. Los sobres para las donaciones se encuentran en el vestíbulo de la iglesia y se pueden depositar en la canasta de la
colecta o traerlos a la oficina.
El Concilio de Damas Católicas de Corpus Christi están
aceptando donaciones para el “Baby Shower de Caridades Católicas.” Se están pidiendo donaciones para proveer ayuda a
nuevas mamá y sus bebés. Regalos Nuevos pequeños y grandes son bienvenidos. Se sugieren artículos como pañales, fórmula, biberones, baberos, cobijitas, comida de bebé…cualquier
cosa que los bebés puedan necesitar. Favor de entregar sus
donaciones en las oficinas del Centro Eymard antes del 6 de
abril.
Horario de Adoración al Santísimo – Favor de
tomar en cuenta que el Viernes Santo y el Lunes
de Pascua no se tendrá la Adoración regular. El
miércoles 7 de abril se reanuda el horario regular.
Noticias de los Caballeros de Colón - En una reciente Misa y
cena de los Caballeros de Colón, Manuel Cruz fue nombrado
Caballero del Año, Jeff Techmanski, su esposa y dos hijos fueron nombrados la Familia del Año. Felicidades a todos ellos por
esa honorable distinción en reconocimiento por su servicio y
ministerio a los Caballeros de Colón y a nuestra parroquia.

¡LOS PLANES DEL SPRING FLING CONTINUA!
“SEGUIDME…” FONDO DE SERVICIOS DIOCESANOS 2010
SI aún no ha hecho su ofrenda, le sugerimos atentamente considerar
responder generosamente con su contribución para alcanzar nuestra
meta de este año de $62,000. Hasta esta fecha, 95 familias han hecho
su compromiso para donar $30,000. Estamos necesitando la participación de cada uno de nuestros feligreses para completar el resto que
falta de $32,219 para lograr nuestra meta y así poder compartir con la
ayuda a los necesitados y continuar el trabajo de la iglesia en nuestra
comunidad.
Vía Crucis – Todos los viernes de Cuaresma a las 7:30 pm tenemos la
oportunidad de acompañar a Jesús en su camino al Calvario de nuestra salvación. En esta temporada de oración y penitencia les animamos
a darnos el tiempo para unirnos a nuestra familia parroquial en oración.
¡Encuesta sobre la Liturgia! – Por favor, esté seguro de participar en
la encuesta completando el corto cuestionario acerca de su experiencia
sobre nuestras celebraciones litúrgicas. La Comisión de Liturgia le
invita a ofrecer sus opiniones para una futura planeación. También

CENSO 2010: Está en Nuestras Manos – Por favor, tomemos unos
minutos para llenar el cuestionario del Censo que contiene sólo 10
preguntas fáciles que van a ser enviado por correo durante el mes de
marzo. El Censo es para contar a cada uno de los residentes en los
Estados Unidos, tanto ciudadanos como no ciudadanos, como lo requiere la Constitución.
Sus respuestas son importantes. Su participación ayuda a las comunidades a obtener la parte justa de los fondos federales para carreteras,
escuelas, hospitales y para otros programas que usted y su comunidad

7:00 pm para ofrecer sus ideas y ayuda.
Recoger sus boletos de la rifa cuanto antes y empezar a venderlos
o comprarlos usted mismo.
Poner su orden para la venta temprana de plantas (detalles enseguida)
Venta Temprana de Primavera del Puesto de Plantas – Le invitamos
a hacer su orden antes del martes 16 de marzo de hermosas plantas
para jardín. Al hacer su orden se deben pagar las plantas. Puede recoger su orden de plantas el domingo 21 de marzo en la iglesia. Todas
las ganancias serán a beneficio del puesto de Spring Fling y la Parroquia de Corpus Christi. ¡Aprovechemos el hermoso clima de primavera
para trabajar en nuestro jardín! Las formas para hacer su orden se
encuentran en el vestíbulo.
Cascarones – Si usted recuerda los cascarones son muy populares
durante el Bazar Spring Fling. Son una manera de hacer dinero para el
bazar. En hora de empezar a guardar cascarones (recuerden que hay
que hacer una pequeña abertura en la punta del huevo) Traigan sus
cajas de cascarones y ayude a decorarlos en la cafetería el sábado 20
de marzo de 2:00 – 3:30 pm y el domingo 18 de abril de 2:00 – 3:30
pm. Hagamos planes de divertirnos trabajando.
Adultos que necesitan la Confirmación - Favor de llamar a la oficina
para informarse acerca de la preparación para poder celebrar el Sacramento de la Confirmación en el Domingo de Pentecostés.
SERVICIO PENITENCIAL, CONFESIONES – El lunes 22 de
marzo nuestra parroquia nos brinda una vez más la oportunidad de acercarnos al Sacramento de la Confesión, de una
manera especial en este tiempo de Cuaresma en que la
iglesia nos pide hacerlo al menos una vez al año.
Preparación de Bautismo – Este sábado 20 de marzo a las
2:45 pm es la preparación para los padres de familia que ya se
han anotado para bautizar a sus hijos en este mes. Tanto los
padres como los padrinos asisten a esta preparación como
señal a su compromiso bautismal de ser los primeros educadores de la fe de sus hijos junto con los padrinos quienes representan a la
iglesia y ofrecen a sus ahijados el testimonio de la práctica de su fe
como católicos.
Les invitamos a todos a participar de la Santa Misa a las 7:00 pm para
luego continuar con el Rito de la Penitencia en preparación a las confesiones individuales. En este día tendremos varios sacerdotes confesando. Les animamos a hacer el tiempo para venir a celebrar el sacramento del perdón y amor de Dios por cada uno de nosotros.
Próximo Bautismo - Los padres de familia de nuestra comunidad
interesados en bautizar a sus hijos, favor de llamar a la oficina antes
de venir a anotarse con anterioridad en el próximo bautismo del 30 de
mayo y así poder asistir a la preparación Pre-Bautismal requerida para
padres y padrinos.
GRUPO DE JOVENES - Recuerden también que los
jóvenes ahora se siguen reuniendo regularmente en el
gimnasio a las 6:00 pm todos los sábados. Le animamos
a que vengan a conocer a otros jóvenes de nuestra comunidad parroquial.

ALREDEDOR DE LA ARQUIDIOCESIS
Atención estudiante de preparatoria (High School) no se pierdan la
oportunidad de atender la Conferencia Arquidiocesana de Jóvenes del
30 de julio - 1 de agosto. El grupo de Jóvenes de Corpus Christi está
haciendo planes de participar con el mayor número de jóvenes posible.

EDUCACION DE PADRES: FE, RAZON Y CORAZON – El sábado 30
de marzo de 9:30 am – 3:30 pm, el Ministerio de Vida Familiar ofrece
su primer taller, considerando las necesidades individuales de las familias y plantando las semillas para un mejor futuro.
