Jesus rose from the dead, body and soul, radiant and glorious. Jesus rose for our salvation. His resurrection confirms our faith. It sustains our hope in all the promises of Jesus. Our Blessed Lord is the revelation of truth and the manifestation of faith, hope and charity. Jesus said: “He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood shall have life everlasting and I shall raise Him up on the last day”. Easter nourishes our faith in the most Holy Trinity. We renew our baptismal covenant with God and Christians, throughout the world, joyfully proclaim: “JESUS CHRIST IS RISEN TODAY” ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA! Fr. Moody When a generous soul answered "yes" to God, wonderful things occurred. This is what happened when Mr. LUIS BARDALES , RAFAEL TEJADA and LUIS GAUSIN , said yes to the Lord by donating their knowledge, efforts, time and money for the repairs of the baptismal font and the kitchen fan. As a community we want to express them and their families, our thanks with many blessings for their generosity by demonstrating one more time their compromise and commitment to St. Jerome Church. TO RECEIVE THE GRACES OF DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY (Forgiveness of sin and Punishment): 1.– Place complete trust in God’s mercy. 2.– Repent of all your sins & go to confession sometime during Lent. 3.- Celebrate God’s mercy by attending Mass on the Sunday after Easter (Divine Mercy Sunday). 4.– Go to Communion (as always, while in the state of grace). 5.- Venerate the Image of The Divine Mercy. 6.– Be merciful to others by actions, words, or prayers. Vamos a proclamar gozosamente: ¡JESUCRISTO HA RESUCITADO HOY! ¡ALELUYA! ¡ALELUYA! ¡ALELUYA! Fr. APRIL 5, 2015 WEEK SCHEDULE Reflecting on God’s Word SUNDAY, APRIL 5TH The conviction and enthusiasm of eyewitness accounts gives them a certain ring of truth. Yet the more eyewitnesses there are the more variance there may be in the details reported. Different witnesses may have seen different things—or seen things differently—but they usually agree on the fundamental truth about what happened. The Easter scriptures record the eyewitness accounts of Mary Magdalene, John, and Peter. Their credibility rests not on the precise details, but on the conviction and enthusiasm of the eyewitnesses. It is their belief in the Resurrection that convinces others to believe. Like these scriptural eyewitnesses, today’s believers are also “witnesses chosen by God in advance, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead” (Acts 10:41). We are called to “testify that he is the one appointed by God” (10:42) by giving eyewitness accounts of how the Spirit of the risen Christ is alive today. Our accounts may not agree in every detail, but the core truth will be the same, that Jesus Christ is risen indeed! MONDAY, APRIL 6TH —Virginia Stillwell Copyright © 2014, World Library Publications. All rights reserved. OUR SANCTUARY LIGHT BURNS THIS WEEK IN CHURCH FOR THE GOOD HEALTH OF VICKY CORREA Living God’s Word “Christ is risen!” was once a common greeting on Easter morning. The expected reply, “Risen indeed!” communicated the conviction of an eyewitness. Have you been an eyewitness to the Resurrection? Have you given your account so that others might believe? —Virginia Stillwell Derechos de autor © 2014, World Library Publications.
