Please pray for those who have died, especially Ann Britt, mother of Jim Britt, that they may be welcomed into the heavenly kingdom. CURIOUS ABOUT CATHOLICISM? The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the program to assist those interested in joining the Catholic Church. The RCIA program is also the formal program for adult Catholics to prepare for Confirmation if they have not completed this sacrament. Classes begin in September and Deacon Paul meets with those seeking information during the summer. Please call the office if you would like further information. Pray for our twin parish of St. Isidore, La Gonave, Haiti, that they be sustained in the many challenges they face. Due to the beginning of the rainy season, their water crisis has eased somewhat and we thank God for that answered prayer! Pray for our country and its people as we celebrate our Independence Day. Spiritual Book Club: On July 11 at 7:00 pm, The Spiritual Book Club will meet to discuss Apologia Pro Vita Sua. This was Cardinal John Henry Newman's defense of his religious opinions published in response to an unwarranted attack on himself, the Catholic priesthood and Roman Catholic doctrine. Written in 1864, it was a best seller and established Newman as one of the foremost exponents of Catholicism in England. June statistics coming soon! You’re Invited! The person requesting the mass may make a voluntary offering but it is not necessary. The usual and customary offering currently in the Diocese of Richmond is $10 but one can offer more or less. Only one person can offer any particular mass, but they may offer it for more than one deceased loved one. Masses may also be offered for special intentions such as in honor of someone’s birthday or anniversary, for the recovery of a sick person, etc. Cards are available to send to family members letting them know a mass is being offered. One mass on Saturday/Sunday MUST be offered by the priest for the people of the people. This is the “Misa Pro Populo” or the Parish Mass.
