WELCOME TO SAINT PIUS V!
FÙ. MƒÙã®Ä’Ý B®Ê¦ÙƒÖ«ù
Father Mar n Nguyen was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Orange in 2005 and has served in
various assignments as a parochial vicar. He was born in Vietnam and immigrated with his parents to this
country when he was ten years old. The three of them arrived in California in November of 1986, a er
spending eleven months in two different refugee camps in Indonesia. He entered St. John’s Seminary
College in Camarillo in 1994. A er gradua ng in 1999 with Bachelor degrees in Philosophy and Literature,
he took one year off before star ng theology. He obtained his M.Div and M.A. in Spiritual Theology from
St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California.
Father Mar n is thankful that God called him to the priesthood. As of July 1st, Father Mar n will serve the
people of God here at St. Pius V.

Fr. Avelino Orozco was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Orange in 2004 and has served in three
different parishes as a parochial vicar. Born in Puebla, Mexico, he came to the United States in 1986, a er
gradua ng from high school in his hometown. For the next ten years, he worked various jobs, a ended ESL
classes, earned his U.S. high school diploma and con nued his educa on at Santa Ana College. While
there, he was inspired by the call to priesthood and pursued that calling at Tijuana’s Seminary. A er
studying there for three years, he moved to St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo and obtained a Master of
Divinity. Fr. Avelino is happy to be here at St. Pius V and is looking forward to sharing his faith with
everyone here. He asks for your prayers that he may serve you well and extends his blessings to you all.
AÙã MƒÙƒÃƒ’Ý B®Ê¦ÙƒÖ«ù
Art Maramba is proud to be the next Music Director for the St. Pius V Catholic Parish. In this capacity,
he will work with both the church and the school.
Born in Manila, Philippines, Art immigrated with his family to the United States when he was eleven
years old. He is the eldest of three brothers in a family of musicians. Art has extensive experience in
liturgical music, having worked in Catholic Church music ministry for over thirty years. He comes to us
directly from Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Long Beach, where he served as the Music Director for
the past 12 years. He has built his career on the philosophy of using music to bring others closer to God. His
ul mate goal is to encourage the ac ve par cipa on of all parishioners in the Mass, by incorpora ng rich
and spiritually fulfilling music. To this end, he will con nue to build an inclusive and ac ve music ministry,
one open to anyone who feels the call to join, regardless of experience, culture or language. He looks
forward to working with all members of the parish, especially the members of the music ministry and the
students at our school.

El Padre Martin Nguyen fue ordenado sacerdote para la Diócesis de Orange en 2005 y ha servido en
diversas parroquias como Vicario Parroquial. Él nació en Vietnam y emigró con sus padres a este país
cuando apenas tenía diez años de edad. Tres de ellos llegaron a California en noviembre de 1986, después
de pasar once meses en dos campos para refugiados en Indonesia. El P. Martin ingresó al Seminario de San
Juan en Camarillo en 1994. Después de graduarse en 1999 con una licenciatura en Filosofía, tomó un año
de descanso antes de comenzar su Maestría en Teología. Obtuvo su Maestría en Divinidad y Teología
Espiritual en el Seminario, y obtuvo Maestría en Trabajo Social de la Universidad del Sur de California. El
Padre Martin está agradecido de que Dios le haya llamado a servirle a Él y a Sus fieles por medio del
sacerdocio. A partir del 1o de julio el P. Martin está sirviendo al pueblo de Dios aquí en San Pío V.

DIRECTOR OF FAITH FORMATION
St. Pius V church in Buena Park seeks an individual of faith, vision and knowledge to take a leadership role in the
establishment, formation and execution of the cradle to grave Faith Formation Ministry for our large multi-cultural
community. The candidate should hold a Master’s degree in Theology, Pastoral theology, Catechetics, Youth
Ministry or Religious Studies. Have strong organizational skills, with the ability to recruit and delegate. The focus is
to bring all ages to a closer understanding and involvement as part of the Body of Christ. The successful candidate
will have strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and work with a variety of
constituents, including children, and will treat all with respect and compassion. Bi-lingual skills (English-Spanish) are
needed.
EVENING PART-TIME RECEPTIONIST
We are also taking applications and interviewing for an evening part-time receptionist position. Candidate will be bi
-lingual (English – Spanish), have thorough knowledge of phone and office protocols and an understanding of
Catholic Church teachings. Duties will include greeting and assisting people coming to the parish office, answering
phones and directing callers to appropriate personnel or taking messages. Assisting with all office work including
data entry, copying and shredding, assisting the parish ministries, Mass intentions, cash receipts and other duties as
required. Good verbal and written communication skills are critical along with the ability to maintain confidentiality
in all matters.

between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. We are looking for a
1 hour commitment. Hours needed of coverage are
