Sunday
Great Parish Feast Day! As you may or may not know, our
parish feast date is officially August 21, the Memorial of St. Pius
X in the church calendar. Since he is our patron saint, we can
celebrate him on a Sunday and it is treated as a Solemnity. That
is why our Masses last weekend were for St. Pius X. As part of
that celebration, we had a wonderful picnic celebrating our
parish (40 years!) and our patron saint (100 years since his
death). We included in the celebration what used to be our
ministry fair, and let each ministry give information about their
ministry while providing a fun activity for the festivities.
It really turned out great! We had a great time! There was a lot
of food for everyone and many games and activities for young
and old alike. People had the chance to celebrate the many
diverse ministries we have here in the parish, and several folks
commented on how good it was to learn about ministries that
they never knew existed! As folks went around to each table
and participated in the activities and learned about each ministry,
they were able to have their raffle card signed off on, which they
could then enter into the drawing for some really nice prizes.
Additionally, the ministries even noted that they were able to
sign up many more new members!
God is so good! Thank you for your intercession, St. Pius X!
Happy feast day to all!

WELCOME SEMINARIAN MARK WHITE

with a Master of Divinity in May of 2012. Inspired by
his sister’s conversion to Catholicism he came into the
Church on August 14th of 2012. Mark is a native
Atlantan. He was born and raised in Dunwoody
Georgia. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the
University of Georgia in 1995. Recently he worked as
the Operations Manager of a Fairfield Inn and Suites in Alpharetta
Georgia before being accepted as a seminarian for the Archdiocese
of Atlanta in June of this year. He would like to say, “I am truly
privileged to learn and serve as a seminarian in the Lord’s Church
at St Pius X. Thanks so much for having me aboard. I look
forward to meeting and working with all of you!”
Please remember to keep all our seminarians in your prayers!
XXI DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO – 24 DE AGOSTO, 2014
ZÜtv|tá
BIENVENIDO SEMINARISTA
MARK WHITE
Inn and Suites en Alpharetta Georgia.
a bordo. Espero poder conocer y trabajar con todos
ustedes!” Recuerde por favor mantener a todos
los seminaristas en sus oraciones
¡Realmente resultó grandioso y la pasamos muy
bien!
bueno! Gracias, San Pío X por su intercesión!
¡Feliz día de fiesta a todos!

As Christian stewards, we receive God’s gifts gratefully, cultivate
them responsibly, share them lovingly in justice with others, and
return them with increase to the Lord.
In today’s reading, St. Paul reminds the Romans – and us – that all
things come from God: “For from him and through him and for him all
things are.” Good stewards understand that all is gift and share
generously the gifts of time, talent, and treasure with which they’ve
been blessed.
