What a wonderful night to celebrate the hard work of our teachers and students. Thank you to the Dads’ Club for hosting a delicious pasta dinner that evening as well! We hope to see you all at the Auction on Saturday, May 10th. This is our largest fundraiser for the school year and promises to be a super fun night. So dust off your cowboy boots and join us at the Roosevelt Roundup! Collaborative Creativity Happens at BandWorks Summer Camp! For kids 8+, BandWorks award-winning Rock n’ Roll Camp is open to young beginners through advanced, older teen players. Top profession musician-instructors create a team environment while teaching kids the skills they need to play in a band! By the end of the week, students are rocking teaching kids the skills they need to play in a rock band! By the end of the week, students are rocking out in a live performance in the classroom. CITYWIDE TRACK MEET San Leandro is having a citywide track meet on Saturday, May 3,2014, 5-9pm at Burrell Field (under the lights). We are have been practicing during morning recess: 9:15 for the 3rd graders and 9:45 for the 4th-5th graders. We have 75 plus students practicing for the meet. Attached are the schedule of the practices and what we practice each day. The track meet starts at 5:00 sharp and we have warm-ups at 4:00pm. I need 5 volunteers (parents) to help at the track meet. With this fundraiser we were able to raise $1000 for our PTA, while continuing to provide books & educational materials to our classrooms, with an additional $2510 in Scholastic profits, a 42% combined profit! Since we exceeded our goal, Former Principal Forrester has promised to bring a new Pop Star Sensation to the Roosevelt Stage, during a lunch this June!!! Paparazzi welcome!
