YVES Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time In today’s second reading, St. Paul encourages us not to grow weary or lose heart, but to persevere in following Jesus. Our willingness to give of ourselves, even in the face of conflict and division, is one way to measure our discipleship. “After Jesus, it is the Blessed Virgin Mary who by her example most perfectly teaches the meaning of discipleship & stewardship...She was called and gifted by God; she responded generously, creatively and prudently; she understood her divinely assigned role as “handmaid” in terms of service and fidelity.” (U.S. Bishops’ pastoral letter, Stewardship: A Disciple’s Response) August 15-Feast of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary August 16-Feast of Saint Stephen of Hungary August 19-Feast of Saint John Eudes, Priest August 20-Feast of Saint Bernard, Abbot, Doctor of the Church *** Annual Catholic Appeal Weekday Masses/Services Sacred Heart-Morton, Monday August 15—Mass 10am Confessions-9:15am St. Yves- Mossyrock, Mass Tuesday—10am Confessions-9:15am ** Weekend Mass Schedule Sunday St. Yves-8:30am Sacred Heart, Morton-10:45am Coffee and Cookies after Mass St. Yves Knights of Columbus Breakfast 3rd Sunday Annual Appeal Sacred Heart-57.74% St. Yves-65% Repose of the Soul Virginia Matthews Angel Manuel Velasco Hemandez St. Joseph——97% ($1200 in pledges needed to make Goal) St. Mary—81% ($5100 in pledges needed to make Goal) Parishes that do not reach their Annual Appeal goal are required to make up the difference — Please help your parish to achieve their goal.
