Según la norteamericana Patricia Schultz, reconocida escritora especializada en literatura de viajes: “La vida no se mide por el número de veces que
respiramos, sino por los lugares o instantes que nos quitan la respiración”. Pues bien, a juicio de esta escritora, la Hacienda del Cardenal, en Toledo, es uno de
esos lugares que nos dejan sin respiración y en el que pueden vivirse instantes mágicos.Y deja constancia de ello en una de las páginas de su libro “1000
sitios que ver antes de morir”.
Cuando habla de Toledo dice: “El mejor restaurante de Toledo es la Hacienda del Cardenal, se encuentra en un elegante palacio de un cardenal del siglo XVIII, que es
también el lugar más encantador para pasar la noche, garantizando el lujo de ver esta enigmática ciudad antes y después de las inundaciones de excursionistas de un día”.
Se nota que Patricia Schultz sabe de qué habla, pues solo quien haya paseado por la muralla toledana entre el rumor que causan el viento entre las hojas,
el agua de las fuentes y los pájaros, al caer la tarde; puede expresarse así de este mágico lugar.
El libro, de casi 1000 páginas y recomendado por el New York Times, es uno de los libros de viajes más vendidos de los Estados Unidos.

the places or moments that take our breath away”. In this writer’s view, the Hacienda del Cardenal, in Toledo, is one such place that leaves us breathless, one where we can
experience magical moments. She makes this clear in one of the pages of her book “1000 Places To See BeforeYou Die”.

de IFEMA, una nueva edición de FITUR (Feria Internacional de
Turismo).

Su nombre científico es lophius piscatorius, pero popularmente es conocido como rape. Se trata de un pescado
delicioso, sabroso y sin espinas, por lo que es perfecto para
aquellos que sienten cierto rechazo hacia el pescado.
La verdad es que su físico no le hace justicia. Se trata de un
pescado muy feo, con una enorme y desproporcionada cabeza. Suele camuflarse en los fondos rocosos gracias a su piel oscura y su forma irregular. Atrae a sus víctimas con una especie
de gusanito brillante que agita hábilmente hasta que caen en
su enorme boca que bien podría ser una caña de pescar.
Its scientific name is lophius piscatorius, but it is popularly
known as monkfish.This fish is delicious, tasty and bone-free and is
thus perfect for anyone who is put off by fish.
The truth is that its physical appearance does not do it justice.This
is a very ugly fish, with a huge and disproportionate head. It tends
to conceal itself in the rocky seabed thanks to its dark skin and irregular shape. Its victims are attracted by a kind of shiny worm that it
skilfully waves about, until they fall into its vast mouth that could
be likened to a fishing rod.

Madrid estrena el año y estrena Alcaldesa. Desde el
pasado 27 de diciembre y, por primera vez en la historia, hay
una mujer en la Alcaldía de la capital y su nombre no es otro
que el de Ana Botella.
Tras ser designado Ministro de Justicia por Mariano Rajoy el,
hasta ahora, Alcalde, Alberto Ruíz Gallardón, la segunda Teniente de Alcalde y Concejala de medio Ambiente, ha pasado
a ocupar la Alcaldía. La elección se llevó a cabo en un pleno
extraordinario, convocado por el vicealcalde Manuel Cobo,
en el que Ana Botella contó con el respaldo de 31 de los 55
concejales del Ayuntamiento.
Su carne es compacta, blanca y sabrosa, con una textura que
recuerda un poco a la del marisco. Puede prepararse de mil
maneras distintas y todas deliciosas y se aprovecha todo, hasta la cabeza, con la que puede elaborarse un caldo espectacular. Debido a su bajo contenido en grasas (2 gramos por
cada 100) resulta ideal en las dietas de control de peso o
para problemas digestivos. Así que no duden en incluirlo en
su dieta todos aquellos que quieren cuidarse después de los
excesos de las comidas navideñas.
Con el rape una vez más se pone de manifiesto que “El físico
no lo es todo…”.
