Dear parishioners,
When we hear Jesus say, ―Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them,‖ we probably think of the Sacrament of
Reconciliation, and priest’s power to absolve sins. But the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Orders as we know
them today evolved over the centuries. In the gospel Jesus speaks not to a particular group of leaders, but to all the
disciples together. The church, born at Pentecost, is the astounding revelation of how our Lord continues to be present in
the world. Not through certain members who might be especially powerful, prestigious, or even holy, but through all of us
collectively! The Holy Spirit, into which we all been baptized, calls us to a radical, supernatural unity. For the early
church, being Jew or Greek, slave or free, could no longer be primary distinctions. So for us. We all have special roles and
gifts, but being, rich or poor, Latino or Asian, ordained or not, cannot be our primary identifications. As I reflect on my
time here at Christ the King, I see how the Holy Spirit has moved so many hearts to forgiveness. We have had to forgive
each other for things like not respecting cultural differences, for not smiling at each other more, for choirs practicing too
loudly, for one group disturbing another’s sanctuary decorations, for not doing more to help organize parish events, for
being passive and complacent in our responsibility to support the parish financially, etc. And of course, constant
forgiveness for the priests’ failings! For the early church, ―to forgive sins‖ meant to bring lost people to salvation through
the waters of Baptism. In forgiving each other we proclaim the saving presence of the risen Lord. And in so doing we call
others into this unique and precious community of faith called Christ the King. Fr Robert

Cuando escuchamos a Jesús decir, ―Los pecados que tu perdones son perdonados,‖ probablemente pensamos en el Sacramento de
Reconciliación, y el poder del sacerdote de absolver los pecados. Sin embargo el Sacramento de Reconciliación y la Santas
Ordenes como las conocemos en la actualidad han evolucionado a través de los siglos. En el Evangelio Jesús no se dirige a un
grupo particular de líderes, sino a todos los discípulos juntos. La iglesia que nace en Pentecostés, es la asombrosa revelación de
cómo el Señor continúa estando presente en el mundo. No a través de ciertos miembros que pueden quizá ser especialmente
poderosos, prestigiosos, o hasta santos, sino a través de todos nosotros colectivamente.! El Espíritu Santo, dentro del cual hemos
sido bautizados, nos llama a una unidad radical, supernatural. Para la iglesia primitiva, ser Judío o Griego, esclavo o libre, ya no
era una distinción primaria. Lo mismo que nosotros. Todos tenemos dones y regalos especiales, pero ser rico o pobre, Latino o
Asiático, ordenado o laico, no puede ser nuestra identificación principal. Al reflexionar en mi tiempo aquí en Cristo Rey, veo
como el Espíritu Santo ha movido a tantos corazones a perdonar.
Nos hemos tenido que perdonar unos a otros por cosas como falta de respeto por diferencias culturales, por no sonreír
frecuentemente unos a otros, por los coros que ensayan con el volumen muy alto, porque un grupo mueve las decoraciones que
otro grupo puso en la iglesia, por no hacer más para ayudar a organizar los eventos parroquiales, por ser pasivos y complacientes
con nuestra responsabilidad de ayudar financieramente a la parroquia, etc. Y por supuesto, perdón constante por los defectos de
los sacerdotes! Para la iglesia primitiva, ― perdonar los pecados‖ significaba llevar a las personas perdidas a la salvación a través
de las aguas del Bautismo. Perdonándonos unos a otros proclamamos la presencia salvadora del Señor resucitado. Y haciendo esto
llamamos a otros dentro de ésta unida y preciosa comunidad de fe llamada Cristo Rey.. Fr Robert

linh mục được ban phép tha tội. Nhưng bí tích Xá giải và Chức Thánh như chúng ta biết đã biến đổi qua nhiều thế kỷ. Trong
Thánh kinh Chúa Giêsu không nói về một nhóm thủ lãnh đặc biệt nào, nhưng tới toàn thể các môn đệ. Giáo hội, được sinh ra nơi
Chúa Thánh Thần Hiện Xuống, là một thiên khải lạ lùng về Thiên Chúa chúng ta tiếp tục hiện hữu trong thế giới thế nào. Không
chỉ qua một số phần tử có những quyền hành, uy tín, và ngay cả sự thánh thiện trổi vượt, nhưng qua chúng ta như một tập thể.
Chúa Thánh Thần, trong Ngài tất cả chúng ra được thanh tẩy, mời gọi chúng ta tới một hiệp nhất siêu nhiên và triệt để. Cho giáo
hội tiên khởi, là một người Do-thái hay Hy-lạp, nô lệ hoặc tự do, không còn là những phân biệt căn gốc. Với chúng ta cũng thế.
Tất cả chúng ta có nhiều vai trò và tài năng đặc biệt, nhưng là thụ tạo, giầu hay nghèo, người Mỹ La-tinh hay Á đông, có chức
thánh hay không, không có thể là nhận diện căn gốc của chúng ta. Khi tôi suy gẫm về thời gian của tôi tại giáo xứ Chúa Kitô Vua,
d tôi nhìn thấy Chúa Thánh Thần đã rung chuyển quá nhiều con tim tới sự thứ tha như thế nào. Chúng ta phải tha thứ cho nhau về
những việc như không tôn trọng những nền văn hóa khác biệt, không vui cười với nhau nữa, các ca đoàn tập hát quá lớn, nhóm nọ
đụng chạm tới những trang hoàng cung thánh của nhóm khác, đã không tận lực hơn để giúp tổ chức các dịp lễ của giáo xứ, thụ
động và tự mãn trong trách nhiệm của chúng ta để giúp đỡ tài chánh giáo xứ, ... vân vân. Và dĩ nhiên, thường xuyên tha thứ cho sự
những suy nhược của linh mục! Trong giáo hội tiên khởi, "Tha thứ tội lỗi" có nghĩa là mang những kẻ lạc đường tới ơn cứu độ qua
nước Rửa tội. Trong việc tha thứ cho nhau chúng ta tuyên xưng món quà cứu độ của Chúa Phục Sinh. Và để được như vậy chúng
ta mời gọi nhau tới một cộng đoàn đức tin quý giá và duy nhất này được gọi là giáo xứ Chúa Kitô Vua. Fr. Robert

As the catechetical year comes to a close, we want to

the children, youth and adults preparing for baptism, first
communion and confirmation as catechists.

Stewardship Thought for the Week
―When the Lord, your God, brings you into the land which he swore to
your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, that he would give you, a land with
fine, large cities that you did not build, with houses full of goods of all sorts
that you did not garner, with cisterns that you did not dig, with vineyards and
olive groves that you did not plan; and when, therefore, you eat your fill,
take care not to forget the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt,
that place of slavery.’‖ Deuteronomy 6:10-12

It is our way of recognizing those who have kept their pledge of at least
$2,000 to Make our Church Truly Our Own. Those who keep their
pledge of at least $2,600 for the recent Rooted in Faith campaign will
also be recognized with a leaf.

The farewell celebration for Fr. Robert will be June
20th. The celebration will begin with a unity mass at 6:15
PM. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. A sign up
sheet is in the Narthex for anyone who can help with the
food for the reception by bringing food or serving in the
kitchen. We will have a basket for cards and letters so
that you can jot down your memories and wishes for him
to help him remember us.
We Missed It!
Most of us did not know that on Tuesday, May 12th our
Fr Paul Duong celebrated 35 years ordained a priest.
Whose fault was it that we did not know? Mine! I
publicly apologize to the parish. I am personally very
grateful to Fr. Paul. He is a true man of prayer, which
explains how the joys and considerable sufferings during
these 35 years have formed him into the priest—for me a
model priest—that he is. I have learned from his example
of priestly service in genuine wisdom, peace and love. It
has been a great blessing to live and work with him this
past year. I encourage all of you to personally
congratulate him, and thank him for being such a blessing
to Christ the King. Fr Robert
Great news!!
The collection for last weekend was $9,221! Thanks to
all of you who took Fr. Robert’s words to heart and have
decided to begin to trust God more with the discipline of
financial stewardship. We have made a great start on our
goal to pay our bills by the end of June. For that to
happen, the weekend collection over the next 5 weeks
needs to average $13,083. If we all do our part as a single
family of faith we can do it! Don’t forget to come to
Mass with your offering already in an envelope. They
will be blessed right before the Offertory collection.
Baptism for children of school age
This year the classes for children preparing to be
baptized will be separate from the classes for first
communion. The fees will be the same, and children
in the same family are given the family discount even
if the children are in different programs. However,
registration for a child in grades 1–6 for baptism and
grades 7–12 for first communion or baptism and first
communion are separate forms and are to be turned
into Carol. We hope that this will eliminate some of
the confusion that was present this year. For more
information, call Carol in the parish office on
Mondays, 10 AM-6 PM, or Tuesdays, 2-6 PM.
A Special Thank You and Request
We want to extend a special thank you to Mr. Viet Bui
for the new parish website (ctk-sjc.org).To create and
maintain current such an attractive and extensive
website requires many hours and much love. We are
all blessed by him. He is very anxious to post whatever
information, announcements, pictures, videos, etc., that
ministry leaders send him. So leaders please support
him and help make the CTK website the best in the
Diocese. And again, thank you Mr. Bui!

Catechetical Program Registration for 2009-2010
Registration forms for the 2009-2010 school year will be
distributed June 6 and June 7 after all masses. The forms
should be filled out and returned to the catechetical
office from June 21-30 between 1-6PM, for English and
Vietnamese programs. For Spanish, please refer to the
Spanish page.
Finances: Your Sunday offering last weekend was
$9,221.00 as compared with the goal of 13,083.00. May

La celebración de despedida del padre Robert será el 20
de Junio. Empezando con la celebración de una Misa unida a
las 6:15 PM. Después de la Misa una recepción en el Salón
de la Parroquia. A la entrada hay una hoja para todos aquellos
que deseen ayudar con comida para la recepción o sirviendo
en la cocina Tendremos una canasta donde usted pondrá
depositar sus tarjetas para que escribir sus memorias y
recuerdos que le ayuden a recordarnos.
Se nos pasó!
La mayoría de nosotros no sabíamos que el pasado Martes 12 de
Mayo nuestro sacerdote, padre Paúl Duong celebró 35 años de su
ordenación sacerdotal. ¿De quién fue la culpa de que nadie se
enterara? Mía! Y públicamente me disculpo con la parroquia. Yo
personalmente estoy muy agradecido con padre Paúl. El es un
verdadero hombre de oración, lo que explica como el gozo y el
considerable sufrimiento durante éstos 35 años los han formado
en el sacerdote -- para mí el sacerdote modelo que él es. Yo he
aprendido mucho con su ejemplo de sacerdote servicial de
sabiduría genuina, paz y amor. Ha sido una gran bendición vivir y
trabajar con él durante un año. Yo los animo a todos a que
personalmente lo feliciten, y le agradezcan por ser tan grande
bendición para Cristo Rey. Fr Robert

somos bendecidos por Mr , siempre ansioso de incluir

ministros líderes le envían. Por favor líderes apóyenlo y
ayúdenlo a hacer la red informativa de CR la mejor de la

Bautizos para niños en edad escolar
Este año las clases de preparación para bautizos de niños de edad
escolar estarán separadas de las clases de niños en preparación para la primera
comunión. El costo será el mismo del año anterior y a las familias con varios
niños
se les dará un descuento aún si los niños están en diferentes
programas. Sin embargo, las formas de registro para niños del 1º al 6º grado
para bautismo y los niños de 7 al 12º grado para primera comunión, o para
bautismo y primera comunión deberán llenarse por separado y deberán ser
entregadas a Carol. Esperamos que esto elimine la confusión que se presentó
este año. Para más información, llame a Carol a la oficina el Lunes de 10
AM-6 PM, o Martes, de 2-6 PM.

Estupenda Noticias!!
Las ofrendas recibidas el pasado fin de semana fueron de
$9,122100! Gracias a todos los que tomaron las palabras del padre
Robert de corazón y decidieron empezar a confiar en más en Dios
con una disciplina financiera de corresponsabilidad . Hemos
tenido un buen principio para empezar nuestra meta de pagar
todas nuestras facturas para el final de Junio. Para que eso suceda,
las colectas de fin de semana por las próximas 6 semanas
necesitan ser de un promedio de $13,083. Si todos hacemos
nuestra parte como una sola familia de fe podremos hacerlo! No
olvide venir a Misa con su ofrenda ya puesta en un sobre. Ellas
serán bendecidas antes del ofertorio.

Community Outreach
Buổi giã từ cha Robert --- sẽ được tổ chức vào ngày
20/6/2009. Bắt đầu bằng một thánh lễ đồng tế lúc 6:15 chiều.
Buổi tiếp tân diễn ra ngay sau đó trong hội trường của giáo
xứ. Tờ ghi danh sẽ có tại cuối nhà thờ cho quý vị nào có thể
giúp mang đồ ăn tới cho buổi tiếp tân hoặc giúp phục vụ trong
nhà bếp. Chúng ta sẽ có một rổ các tấm thiệp và lá thư để quý
vị ghi xuống những kỷ niệm và lời chúc tới cha Robert để
giúp ngài nhớ tới chúng ta.
Chúng ta đã lỡ mất rồi--- Hầu hết chúng ta không biết thứ
Ba ngày 12/5/2009 là ngày kỷ niệm cha Dương chịu chức linh
mục được 35 năm. Lỗi của ai mà chúng ta không biết đến
ngày này? Đó là lỗi của tôi! Tôi một cách công khai xin cáo
lỗi tới giáo xứ. Riêng cá nhân tôi rất biết ơn cha Dương. Ngài
thực là một con người có đời cầu nguyện, điều này giải thích
được thế nào về những niềm vui và những đau khổ trong suốt
35 năm này đã tạo ngài thành một linh mục -làm gương mẫu
cho tôi- như ngài có. Tôi học hỏi được nhiều những gương
sáng về việc phục vụ của đời linh mục trong sự khôn ngoan
thực sự, trong sự an bình và yêu thương. Đây là một niềm
chúc phúc lớn được sống và làm việc với ngài trong năm qua.
Tôi khuyến khích tất cả quý vị tới chúc mừng ngài, và cám ơn
ngài về những phúc lành như thế cho giáo xứ Chúa Kitô Vua.

Những tổ chức Sắp Đến tại Giáo Xứ Kitô Vua
Cuộc Píc-Níc hằng năm: sẽ vào ngày 13/6/2009 từ 8g sáng tới
6g chiều tại Hellyer Park
Lễ từ biệt cha Robert: sẽ có thánh lễ Đồng Tế vào ngày
20/6/2009 lúc 6g15 chiều. Có tiếp tân sau thánh lễ
Ngày hội và ca múa Kermes: sẽ vào ngày 29-30/8/2009.
Hỷ sự --- Số tiền quyên được vào cuối tuần qua là $9,221.
Cám ơn tất cả quý vị để tâm tới lời cha Robert và quyết định
bắt đầu tín thác vào Chúa hơn trong sự cố gắng đóng góp tài
chánh. Chúng ta đang có một khởi sự tốt đẹp trong mục tiêu
để thanh toán hết các hóa đơn của chúng ta vào cuối tháng 6
này. Để việc này có thể xảy ra, quyên tiền vào các cuối tuần
trong vòng 6 tuần lễ tới trung bình mỗi tuần phải được là
$13,083. Nếu chúng ta cùng làm phần của chúng ta như là
một gia đình tín hữu, chúng ta có thể làm được điều này! Xin
đừng quên tới tham dự thánh lễ với tiền đóng góp đã để sẵn
trong phong bì. Những phong vì này sẽ được chúc lành ngay
trước khi quyên tiền bắt đầu..
Rửa tội cho các em nhỏ ở tuổi đi học: Năm nay những lớp sửa
soạn cho các em nhỏ được rửa tội sẽ được tách ra từ những lớp
rước lễ lần đầu.Lệ phí sẽ không thay đổi, các em cùng một gia
đình sẽ được giảm lệ phí ngay cả ghi danh trong các chương
trình khác nhau. Tuy thế, ghi danh rửa tội cho một em từ lớp 1-6
và rước lễ lần đầu từ lớp 7-12, hoặc vừa rửa tội và rước lễ sẽ
dùng mẫu đơn khác nhau và được nộp lại cho bà Carol. Hy vọng
điều này sẽ bớt đi một số lộn xộn đã xảy ra trong năm nay. Muốn
biết thêm tin tức, xin gọi bà Carol tại văn phòng giáo xứ vào mỗi
thứ Hai từ 10g sáng tới 6g chiều.

Chúng tôi cám ơn cách dặc biệt tới anh Viet Bui về website
anh đã thiêt lâp cho Giáo Xứ CTK (ctk-sjc.org). Anh đã làm
ra một Website thật đẹp và có nhiều công phu. Giáo xứ được
chúc phúc vì việc làm của anh. Anh cũng luôn sốt sáng cho
vào website những tin tức và hình ảnh, Video, anh nhận được
từ các nhóm. Tất cả chúng ta hãy hợp tác với anh Việt để làm
cái Website của CTK được tốt nhất trong Giáo Phận. Một lần
nữa xin đặc biệt cám ơn anh Việt Bùi!

quý vị thường xuyên vào trang mạng để xem những thay đổi mới
của giáo xứ. Mạng đã có video va hình ảnh ngày mừng sinh nhật thứ
15 của giáo xứ CTK ngày 2/5/2009 vừa qua.
Ghi danh chương trình Giáo lý cho niên khóa 2009-2010: tờ ghi
danh sẽ được phát ra vào ngày 6/6 và 7/6 sau các thánh lễ. Tờ ghi
danh phải được điền và nộp lại cho văn phòng Giáo lý từ ngày 21/630/6 trong khoảng 1g-6g chiều.
