COLLECTION FOR PHILIPPINE RELIEF
December 14th & 15th, 2013
The 7.2 earthquake that occurred in the Philippines, on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 struck in Central Visayas. The hardest hit area was the
province of Bohol, which had a total of 22 (centuries-old churches)
that were damaged on Bohol Island. Two of them - Our Lady of Light
Church (Loon Church), built in 1753, and Santa Cruz Parish Church
(Maribojoc Church) - were totally destroyed to the ground. Not to
mention the toll taken in private homes and lives. Bishop Calvo
would like to this opportunity to ask the people of the Diocese of Reno
to assist the Philippine people in their recovery and reconstruction. So
on December 14th and 15th, 2013 we will take up a collection for The
Philippine Relief. Thank you for your contributions and God Bless
you all.

Diciembre 14th y 15th, 2013
El terremoto de 7,2 que se produjo en las Filipinas, el martes 15 de
octubre de 2013, que afectó en Visayas Centrales. La zona más afectada fue la provincia de Bohol, que contaba con un total de 22 (Iglesia
de muchos siglos) que fueron dañados en la isla de Bohol. Dos de ellos
- Nuestra Señora de la Luz (Loon Iglesia), construido en 1753, y la
iglesia de Santa Cruz Parroquial (Maribojoc Church) - fueron destruidos totalmente. Sin mencionar el costo en vidas y hogares privados.
Obispo Calvo le gustaría esta oportunidad para pedir a la gente de la
