Each Party shall encourage the
participationof scholars,of different
departmentsand faculties,on the
research projects. The fields and
scopes of such projects shall be
determined by direct contacts
between the depaftments and
individuals and on the same
conditionsas describedin clausesI,

Candidates
for
exchange,
nominatedby one Party,are subject
to acceptanceby the other Pafty.
The terms of such exchange
includingthe purposeof the visit,
the length of the stay, budget and
payment, and other conditions
necessaryfor its implementation,
shall be mutually discussed and
agreed upon in writing by both
Partiesprior to the initiationof the
exchange.

publications

The Paftiesshall, upon requestand
by mutual written agreement,
advice each other in

establishment of new programs,
new curricula, new departments,

Each Party shall be responsiblefor
assuring full compliance, by its
participants, with the applicable
laws and regulations, of the
respective
nations.
Nothing
conta¡nedherein,or in the activities
conductedherewith, will constitute
that the other Party be the agent or
employee of the other, and each
Party shall be fully and solely
responsiblefor its own actionsand
obligations.

Cada parte será responsable de
asegurar que sus paft¡cipantes
cumplan con las leyes y
regulaciones de las naciones
respectivas. Las partes convienen
en que el personal que designen
para la ejecuciónde las actividades
derivadasdel presenteconvenio,se
entenderá
exclusivamente
relacionadocon la parte que lo
emplea y, en ningún caso, podrá
considerarsea la otra como patrón
solidarioo sustituto.
Clause IX
Regarding intellectual property,
both Parties agree to recognize
mutually the rights that, in the
matter each one has on patents,
utility models, industrial designs
and copy rights, and commit
themselves to maintain them
effective for the execution of the
object of this agreement.

En lo relativo a la propiedad
intelectual,ambaspartesconvienen
en reconocerse mutuamente los
derechosque al respectocada una
tiene sobre patentes, modelos de
utilidad, diseños industriales y
derechosde autor, obligándosea
mantenerlos vigentes para la
ejecución del objeto de este
convenio.
Also, the Pafties agree that the
resulting intellectualproperty rights
of the derivedinstrumentsfrom this
agreementwill be allocatedto the
Party that has producedthem or to
both Parties in proportion to its
contributions.
Asimismo,las partes convienenen
que los derechos de propiedad
intelectual resultantes de los

This agreementwill be valid for a
period of three (3) years, and any
renewal, amendments and/or
modifications requires the written
approval of the representativesof
both institutions and shall be
appendedhereto.

Either Party reserves the right to
finish this agreementwith six (6)
monthsof anticipationby meansof
written notice to the counterpaft.
Any individual activit¡es to be
continued will be specifically
identifiedand providedfor the time
of termination.

terminado el presente acuerdo
mediante notificaciónpor escrito a
la contrapartecon seis (6) mesesde

The Faftiesdeclarethat the present
agreement is a product of their
goodwill, but in case of doubt or
discrepancy on its content or

interpretation they
are
specificallyunder the jurisdictionof
the FederalCourts of Mexico City,
FederalDistrict,Mexico.

Las partes manifiestan que el
presente convenio es producto de
su buenafe, pero en casode duda o
discrepanciasobre su contenidoo

someten
jurisdicción
expresamentea la

los Tribunales Federales de la

corresponderlesen razón a sus

both Parties aware of its contents

hereby sign Spanish and English
versions of this document -two
