The group is for those caring for someone with dementia or interested in learning more about providing care giving to a person with a disorder that affects memory & cognition and may impact behavior and physical abilities. Before attending, please contact the facilitator, Eileen Thompson at 703-451-8626 or [email protected] The key to the ministry of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is home visitation. Vincentians go in pairs to the homes of the poor and suffering after the exhortation of Jesus who sent his Apostles and disciples two by two to continue the mission. Frederic and the founding members also came to know that “No work of charity is foreign to the Society.” Not only were they called to take care of the physical and material needs of others (food, shelter, clothing, firewood), they also became involved with tutoring. No matter what the demands of poverty are, in every work of charity, members of the Society are solicitous to the spiritual and moral welfare of others. Pope Francis tells us: “The Church must step outside herself. To go where? To go to the outskirts of existence, whatever they may be, but she must step out. In this “stepping out” it is important to be ready for encounterR Encounter with others. Why? Because faith is an encounter with Jesus.” How can you use your gift in this ministry today? Call 703/352-3509 for upcoming orientation/training. FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT Religious Education News Vacation Bible School 2016 will be held July 11-15.
