Forever Gold
I recently attended the North American Rally in Orlando, Florida, and I have to
say that it was a tremendous success. I want to congratulate Elvira & Roberto Ruiz
from Los Angeles, California, the “Distributors of the Year” for North America. In
addition, I want to applaud Alvin & Emma Lambright from Burne, Indiana, this
year’s North American “Personal Group Builders of the Year.” We are very proud of
each and every one of our Distributors who had the opportunity to be recognized
on stage, and I look forward to even greater success in North America in 2010.
While there were numerous highlights throughout my time in Orlando, one I
particularly want to talk about was the training presented by Adam May, one of
UK’s top Distributors and Profit Sharing Earners. Adam spoke with great emotion
and passion, leaving everyone feeling optimistic and inspired by the Forever opportunity. Adam reminded all of us that we must develop the right mindset for success.
He also challenged all attendees to commit to bringing five people to the next

As I have watched the Olympics over the last few weeks and enjoyed the incredible performances of participants from around the world, I often reflect on all that
these athletes had to accomplish in order to get to this point in their lives. Every
athlete that competes has a story of endless hours of dedicated effort, of perseverance in the face of setbacks and disappointments, of hope of victory that motivates
each of them to keep going, keep striving, and keep trying, despite the incredible
odds. Behind every victory – or defeat for that matter – there are countless hours of
quietly striving to improve.
In Malcolm Gladwell’s book Outliers, he repeatedly mentions the ‘10,000-Hour
Rule’, claiming that the key to success in any field is, to a large extent, a matter of
practicing a specific task for a total of around 10,000 hours. Certainly the worldclass athletes that compete at the Olympic level have dedicated this kind of time to
being successful.
But this rule doesn’t apply only to Olympic participants. It also applies to each of
us. Indeed, I believe that one of the most powerful messages of the Olympics is that
excellence is all around us. Most of it is never acknowledged with gold medals and
elaborate ceremonies – in fact, it may never be acknowledged at all. But the truth is
that all of us have the potential for greatness in whatever we choose to commit our
time and efforts to – and that certainly is true for each of us as we work to build our
Forever businesses.
Another one of Adam May’s salient points in his presentation is that we need to
treat our businesses as businesses. We have to take it seriously and invest the time
needed to realize the success we want. According to Gladwell’s research, that is
about 10,000 hours. I don’t know if that is truly the magical number, but I do
promise that as you commit yourself to working your business and sacrificing your
time and efforts like the Olympic athletes I have enjoyed watching in Vancouver,
you will realize the fruits of that effort. This has been proven time and again by
Distributors like Adam May, the Ruiz’s, the Lambright’s and countless others in the
Forever family.
Thank you for all you do to make Forever great. I applaud the effort you put in to
grow your business, and would love to award each one of you with a gold medal!

Orlando, Florida, also known as the “The Sunshine State,” was the host
location to Forever Living’s third annual North American Rally. Attendees from all over the United States and Canada congregated together at
the Hilton in the Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate and recognize
the achievements of many and to learn new techniques and methods
to improve their Forever business. Among those who were recognized
on stage for their tremendous accomplishments in 2009, were Profit
Sharing qualifiers, new members of the Business Builders Club and
Conquistador Club, President’s Club members and many other North
American Distributors.

Miss sonYa nortH aMeriCa CoMPetition
The second annual Miss Sonya North America Competition took
place on stage both Friday and Saturday. During Friday’s Distributor
Training, Part One of the Miss Sonya Competition featured 17 beautiful women from all over North America who were introduced to the
audience in their casual wear. Forever Living’s three Miss Sonya judges
(Leticia Fonseca, Diamond Sapphire Manager from Houston, Texas;
Domenou Akakpo
Akakpo, Manager from Toronto, Canada; and Dulce
Marie Guevara
Guevara, Manager from New Jersey) then had the difficult
task of narrowing down the competition to only seven finalists based
on personality, overall appearance, stage presence and Sonya Colour
Collection usage. Towards the end of the Friday training, the seven
lovely finalists were announced and asked to return to the stage during
Saturday’s Rally to compete for the title of Miss Sonya North America.
With plenty of excitement and cheers from the crowd, each of the
remaining seven contestants took a turn on stage in their business attire
to answer a Sonya Colour Collection question. After much anticipation the top two were revealed: Runner-up Brooke Johnson from
Phoenix, Arizona, and the winner of Miss Sonya North America,
ASHLEY MEDEL from Austin, Texas. Ashley will go on to represent
North America and compete in August at the Super Rally in Denver,
Colorado. Congratulations and thank you to all of our beautiful Miss
Sonya contestants!

This year’s Distributor Training was another great success. This session was
filled with motivational success stories, product and business testimonials,
product training, strategies and suggestions on how to build your business
both in person and on the web, and much more! Our first special guest
speaker was Walt Jones, Chairman of the International Aloe Science Council
(IASC). Walt gave a very informative presentation on Aloe Vera of America’s
operating procedures and its IASC certification of the facility, raw materials
and finished products.
Following Walt’s presentation was the launch of the new “Aloe Drinks” video
which is a great tool to use to show others the fantastic benefits of our aloe
gel. Look for it on FLPMedia. Next on stage was Forever Living’s Director of
Communication, Darin Reber, who spoke about the new functions of MY
FLP BIZ and how this state-of-the-art online management tool can provide
you with all you need to grow and manage your business.
President of Forever Living, Gregg Maughan, later greeted the audience and
introduced our keynote speaker all the way from the United Kingdom, Adam
May, who is a Diamond Sapphire Manager and a 7,500 cc Leader! Adam
focused on the differences between working a ‘job’ and working with Forever,
team marketing vs. traditional marketing, and how to develop the right
mindset for success.
To create further excitement among the distributors, raffle prizes were
awarded throughout the training with the biggest prize being a laptop
computer! At the end of the session, all attendees left feeling motivated and
enthusiastic about sharing with others what they had learned and applying
their new knowledge to their business.
For the first time at North American rally we offered a series of informative and
inspirational workshops. Guest speakers included Adam May, Eagle Summit
member and the UK’s #2 Distributor; Walt Jones, International Aloe Science
Council Chairman; Pete Benedict, Executive VP of iCentris, our MyFLPBiz
partner; Istvan Halmi, a Hungarian Sapphire Manager; and a panel of weight loss
experienced Distributors. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive as
they learned many new insights for growing their Forever businesses.

President’s Club 2009
The 2010 President’s Club consists of the top five total (perpetual) case credit earners and the top five personal business builder
case credit earners that qualify for Profit Sharing. The case credit qualification for President’s Club members continues to go up as
our North American sales grow. On Wednesday, after a welcome dinner and photos with Rex, each President’s Club member was
handed their goals for 2010. Great leaders know that one key to success is setting goals! You could feel the excitement in the
air as Rex congratulated them for their efforts and achievements, and inspired them to think even bigger.
Thursday morning was all business. The members met with Rex, Gregg and the North American Sales Team to discuss ideas for
growing the business to 50,000 cc a month in North America, and to sample some new product ideas as well. Then, Director of
Marketing Paul Muehlmann gave a short biography of Walt Disney, and how he overcame many challenges, including bankruptcy, to live his dreams. Following this inspiring presentation, all President’s Club members went to the park of their choice to
experience how dreams come true…Disney style! Great job, 2010 President’s Club Members!

FridaY dinner eXtraVaganZa
Friday night’s Dinner Extravaganza opened its doors to hundreds of attendees all
dressed in their best beach attire. The dinner was kicked-off by Forever Living’s Senior
Vice President of Sales, Harold Greene, Senior Vice President of Operations, Bill
Lewis, and Senior Vice President of U.S. Sales, Carl Zander singing their own version
of the Beach Boys’ “Surfing in the USA,” followed by plenty of great food and lots of
dancing. Guests were also entertained at the ‘Dancing Heads’ stations, which videotaped and super-imposed Distributors’ heads dancing and singing on different bodies.
Throughout the evening, prizes were given away to the winners of a musical chairs
competition and limbo contest. Congratulations to all of the winners, and a big ‘thank
you’ to all the attendees who made it such an exciting and memorable night!
