MISIÓN PARROQUIAL
MISSION STATEMENT
We, the people of St. John XXIII, are a multi-ethnic Roman Catholic
parish (founded on July 1, 2006) formed from the union of the Church
of the Resurrection, Fontana and the parish of St. Thomas More,
Rialto. We seek to nourish the Gospel of Jesus Christ in all families
and people, so that they can rejoice in the love of God in this life and
in the life to come. We endeavor to do this by fostering: an authentic
Christian Stewardship, the Christian education of our youth and adults
through Resurrection Academy and other programs, outreach to the
poor and needy, and the celebration of the sacraments, especially the
Holy Eucharist.

Católica Romana multiétnica (fundada el 1de julio del 2006) formada
por la unión de la Iglesia de la Resurrección en Fontana y la parroquia

What we published here is the first six months’
account of our current parish annual account. Next
week we publish the remaining four months’ account. As you can see, every month our expenditure
is more than our income. This is partly because we
inherited a big deficit from our last parish annual account. As a result, each month we have a left over
debt and the month’s own expenditure to pay. We
try every month to maximize our expenditure but our
past debts and some unforeseen necessary parish
maintenance costs make our efforts difficult.

The Second PARISH PICTORIAL DIRECTORY photo shoot will start at
the Rialto Site: on June 10th, Tuesday thru June 13th, Friday from 2:15pm

The Catholic Daughters will be holding their annual
Fashion Show Fundraiser on Saturday, May 31st from
12pm to 3pm at St. John XXIII, Fontana Parish Hall.
Everyone is invited; bring your friends and family. We
will begin with a buffet lunch followed by a Fashion
Show featuring the latest fashion by Devi’s of Redlands. There will be lots of door/raffle prizes. Tickets
are $10.00 presale and $15.00 at the door. Call Diane

MASS CELEBRATION COMMEMORATING
THE CANONIZATION OF ST. JOHN XXIII
The mass commemorating the canonization of St. John XXIII on May 17,
2014 was well attended that included our brothers and sisters from neighboring parishes. I thank Most Rev. Bishop Barnes for celebrating this
joyous occasion with us. I also thank the two Episcopal Vicars, Fr. Romeo
Seleccion and Fr. Rafael Partida, our priests, Fr. Imo Cletus, Fr. Adalberto
Jeronimo, Fr. Pierre Deglaire, our Deacons, Abel Zamora and Nelson
Glass, and all guest priests and seminarian who came to celebrate with us.
Many thanks to the Resurrection Academy students, their principal, Mrs.
Madeleine Thomas, their teachers, and their parents for sharing with us
those wonderful performances. I am also grateful to the other performers
for sharing their talents, Kristiannel Atienza (contemporary dance) and
Corinna Camacho (vocal rendition), and to Mirna Valdez, our emcee. But
without the parish ministries, families and individuals that helped put this
celebration together and made it happen, we would not have a successful
celebration. I thank you all for your generous contribution of your Time,
Talent, and Treasure. Most of all, I thank the Lord, our God, for allowing
us to have a wonderful celebration by giving us the perfect day!

yet, they are available after the Sunday masses or you may get
them at the parish office in Fontana. Cost is $15.00 each.
May the Lord Almighty, through Jesus Christ, our Redeemer,
and the intercession of St. John XXIII, continue to enrich our parish with
wonderful and caring community of people!

doy las gracias a los dos Vicarios Episcopales, Padre Romeo Seleccion y
Padre Rafael Partida, a nuestros sacerdotes, Padre Cletus Imo, Padre Adalberto Jeronimo, Padre Pierre Deglaire, a nuestros Diaconos, Abel Zamora
y Nelson Glass, y a todos nuestros sacerdotes invitados y seminaristas que
vinieron a celebrar con nosotros. Muchisimas gracias a los estudiantes de
la Academia Resurreccion, a la directora, Sra. Madeleine Thomas, a los
maestros, a los padres por compartir con nosotros las maravillosas interpretaciones. Tambien estoy agradecido con los demás interpretes por compartir sus talentos, Kristiannel Atienza ( baile contemporáneo) y Corinna
Camacho (interpretación vocal), y a Mirna Valdez, nuestra presentadora.
Pero sin los ministerios parroquiales, familias y individuos que ayudaron
en organizar esta celebracion, no hubieramos podido tener una celebracion
exitosa. Agradezco a todos por su generosa contribución de su Tiempo,
Talento y Tesoro. Mas que todo, agradezco al Senor, nuestro Dios, por
permitirnos tener una maravillosa celebración y vernos dado un dia perfecto!
Si todavía no a recogido su playera conmemorativa, están
disponibles después de las misas del Domingo o la puede comprar en
la oficina parroquial de Fontana. El costo por playera es de $15.00
cada una.
Que el Señor todopoderoso, a través de Jesucristo, nuestro
Redentor, y la intercesión de San Juan XXIII, continúe enriqueciendo
nuestra parroquia con una maravillosa y afectuosa comunidad de personas!
