5TH SUNDAY OF LENT
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
This weekend, the Second Collection is for our Maintenance
& Repair Collection. These funds help with the r epair and
restoration of the parish buildings. Thank you for your generosity
and support.
2015 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL
This weekend March 21-22 is our In-Pew Appeal during all
the Masses. If you participated in the Catholic Appeal last year,
you may have received a pledge card for this year in the mail.
We ask you to consider participating again in the Appeal to
help us support the works of the Bishop. Thank your for your
continued support.
FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
In order to give letters of recommendation, letters attesting
to character, sponsor certificates, and other documents that
may have legal or religious purposes, it is required that
persons requesting those documents be registered and be
active members of Blessed Sacrament Parish. We can
not give any of these documents to per sons not r egistered in the parish.
PARISH SUPPORT INITIATIVE
1. Register in Blessed Sacrament to establish membership.
2. Use weekly envelopes with a contribution.
3. Increase your weekly donation to Blessed Sacrament
Church.
We will be able to meet our expenses if we have an increase in our income. Each of us is aware of the costs of
running our own homes. The same demands apply to our
parish. Whatever your means allow, we ask you to considering increasing your contribution.
Our goals are:
1. To register more parishioners.
2. To realize an increase that will allow us to cover our
daily expenses.
EASTER FLOWERS
We are taking donations toward flowers to help decorate
the Church for Easter. This is a nice occasion to remember
your living and deceased loved ones. Please use the Easter
Flower Envelope for your $15 or $25 donation. You may
drop off your envelope at the Rectory or drop it into the
collection basket. Deadline to be published in bulletin will
be March, 28-29, 2015.
GOOD FRIDAY
Join with nearly 500 people in the largest public Christian
peace witness in New York City. The Way of the Cross is a
modern-day Stations of the Cross, witnessing for peace and
justice in the streets of our city. At each Station we reflect on
our participation in a world still characterized by crucifixion.
The walk begins at 8:30am on April, 3rd at 47th Street between First and Second Avenues, proceeds along 42nd Street

THE ANNUNCIATION
On Tuesday, March 25th, we celebrate, “The Annunciation”. The day that the Angel Gabriel announced to Mary
that she had been chosen to be the Mother of the Savior.
Read Luke 1:26-38 for the complete story.
Pray the Rosary in Mary’s honor this day.
We have an additional Mass at 7:30pm in Spanish.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
During the Lenten Season we will conduct the Stations of
the Cross in Church every Friday. The schedule is as follows:
English Stations:
Friday 9:30am in Church
Spanish Stations:
Friday 7:30pm in Church
THE JOURNEY OF LENT
During the 40 days of Lent, we as a Catholic Community
enter into a time during which we give greater attention to
prayer, charity, fasting and reconciliation. Please be aware
of the following Lenten practices recommended by our
Church:
1. Lent extends from Ash Wednesday until the Mass of the
Last Supper (Holy Thursday).
2. During Lent, “Alleluias” and “Gloria” are not sung nor
said until the Easter Vigil Mass.
3. No Flowers should decorate the Church. (Please do not
bring flowers during Lent).
4. There will be no Holy Water until Easter when new
water will be blessed.
5. Refrain from eating meat on Fridays.
6. When fasting you are to eat one full meal and 2 lighter
meals per day. Refrain from eating between meals.
Consider refraining for 40 days from something that you
normally enjoy doing (eating, soap operas, pizza, soda,
alcohol) or taking on something positive to do.
DIOCESAN REFLECTION DAY
For all Ministers in Spanish there will be a “Day of Reflection in Lent” sponsored buy the Office of Hispanic Affairs.
The speakers will be Bishop Octavio Cisneros and Fr. Carlos Agudelo.

LA ANUNCIACION
CAMPAÑA CATOLICA ANUAL 2015
Este fin de semana del 21-22 de Marzo, tendr emos nuestr a
inscripción para la Campaña Católica Anual en todas las Misas.
Si usted participó en la Campaña el año pasado, probablemente
ya recibió por correo la tarjeta de promesa para este año. Por
favor, consideren participar nuevamente en este año y así ayudarán en los esfuerzos del Obispo recogiendo fondos que son
tan necesarios. Gracias por su continua colaboración.

Tendremos una Misa adicional en Español a las 7:30pm.
DESDE EL ESCRITORIO DEL PARROCO
Para poder otorgar cartas de recomendación, de buen carácter
moral, para actuar como padrinos de algún sacramento y documentos para propósitos legales o religiosos, se requiere que
quienes necesitan estos documentos, estén inscritos y sean
miembros activos de la Parroquia del Santísimo Sacramento. No podemos entr egar ninguna cer tificación a las per sonas que no cumplan con estos requisitos.
PROGRAMA DE APOYO PARROQUIAL
Muchos feligreses comprenden la necesidad de la participación
de todo el mundo en el Programa de Apoyo Parroquial. Para la
Iglesia del Santísimo Sacramento, participación significa distintas cosas a distintas personas, como:
1. Registrarse en el Santísimo Sacramento para establecer residencia.
2. Usar los sobres de la parroquia para sus donaciones semanales.
3. Aumentar su compromiso semanal a la Iglesia del Santísimo
Sacramento.
Solo podemos cumplir con nuestros gastos diarios si se han aumentado los ingresos. Cada uno de nosotros es consciente de los
gastos de la financiación de nuestros propios hogares. Lo mismo
es cierto de nuestra parroquia. Cualquier cosa que decida, su regalo debe tener alguna relación con como se vive y ser proporcionales a su capacidad.
Nuestra metas son:
1. Inscribir mas feligreses y
2. Llegar a un aumento en el que podamos cumplir con nuestros gastos cotidianos.
FLORES DE PASCUA
Estamos aceptando donaciones para ayudar en la decoración de la
Iglesia para el Domingo de Pascua. Esta es una buena ocasión
para recordar a sus seres queridos vivos y fallecidos. Use los sobres asignados para Plantas para Pascua para su donación de $15
o $25. Lo pueden traer a la Oficina Parroquial o colocarlo en la
canasta de colecta de Domingo. La fecha limite para este anuncio
será el 28-29 de Marzo.
VIERNES SANTO
Únete con cerca de 500 personas en el mayor testimonio de la
paz cristiana en la ciudad de Nueva York. El camino de la Cruz
es un Vía Crucis que hoy en día nos permite atestiguar por la
paz y la justicia en las calles de nuestra ciudad. En cada estación reflexionamos sobre nuestra participación en un mundo
caracterizado por la crucifixión El camino comienza a las 8:30
am el 3 de Abril en la calle 47 entre la Primera y la Segunda
Avenida, continua a los largo de la calle 42 entre la Octava y

El Martes 25 de Marzo celebraremos el “Día de la Anunciación”, es el día en que el Ángel Gabriel anuncio a María que
fue escogida para ser la Madre del Salvador.

Durante la Cuaresma, cada Viernes, conducimos las Estaciones de la Cruz en la Iglesia. Los horarios son:

EL VIAJE DE LA CUARESMA
Por los próximos 40 días de la Cuaresma, nosotros, como una
Comunidad Católica entramos en un tiempo de reconocimiento de la oración, la caridad, el ayuno y la reconciliación. Por
favor tomen en cuenta las siguientes recomendaciones de la
Iglesia en este tiempo:
1. La Cuaresma comienza el Miércoles de Ceniza y termina
con la Misa de La Ultima Cena (Jueves Santo) .
2. Durante la Cuaresma, el “Aleluya” y el “Gloria” no se
cantan ni se dice hasta la Vigilia de Pascua.
3. Flores no deben decorar la Iglesia. (Por favor no traigan
flores durante la Cuaresma).
4. No habrá agua bendita hasta la Pascua.
5. Absténgase de comer carne los Viernes.
6. Cuando ayuna debe comer solo una vez al día y abstenerse
de comer entre comidas.
7. Por los 40 días, considere abstenerse de hacer o comer
algo que generalmente disfruta de hacerlo (pizza, ver novelas, soda, licor, etc.)
