Pastor’s Reflection
Querida familia de Santo Rosario,
En este tiempo entre la temporada de Navidad y la
Cuaresma, quisiera compartir algunas cosas que estamos haciendo aquí, pero tal vez no conocen.
Todos van a participar en nuestra primera Cena de
San Valentín para recaudar fondos para la renovación de la iglesia y las oficinas. Estoy muy impresionado con el
entusiasmo y creatividad de los parroquianos que están iniciando
este hermoso proyecto. Es para todos: parejas, solteros, niños, todos están invitados. Vamos a incluir clases de salsa, y yo intentaré
bailar en honor de mi país natal de Panamá. Si no puede asistir, se
puede apoyar el proyecto de renovación con una donación.
Nuestros vitrales son un patrimonio muy querido de nuestra familia parroquial. Gracias a la Sociedad Altar/Rosario por la contribución de más de $1,800 donados del Desayuno del Año Nuevo
de Tom Books para la restauración de los vitrales. Junto con lo
que tenemos ahorrado tenemos $6,643, casi suficiente para poder
restaurar algunos vitrales más. Poco a poco.
Empezaremos el retiro de preparación premarital el 6 de marzo.
Debora Organ (la asociada pastoral de la parroquia), el Hno. José,
y las parejas mentoras (Jorge y Carmen, y José y Marina) dirigirán
este taller con la participación de varias parejas preparándose para el Sacramento de Matrimonio. Tenemos más parejas preparándose para este Sacramento que nunca: 26 parejas están en proceso!
Si quiere celebrar un matrimonio, quinceañera o bautismo, será
importante llamar a la oficina parroquial é inscribirse ya, porque
ahora, NO HAY NINGÚN SÁBADO disponible para misas desde
los mediados de mayo hasta el mes de septiembre! Esto seria posible de conseguir otro sacerdote o iglesia o tener una celebración
durante la semana, pero de momento yo no puedo celebrar más
misas los sábados. !Estamos creciendo y floreciendo!

Dear Family of Holy Rosary,
In this time between Christmas and Lent, I want to share with you
some of the things that are going on here that you may not know
about.
First of all, I hope you ALL know about our big Valentine's Day
Fundraiser coming up this Satur day. This is a gr ass-roots effort
from our parishioners to support our renovation needs. I hope you can
attend. It should be fun. There will be salsa lessons (which I will take,
too, in honor of my Panamanian birthplace!). If I can do it, so can
you! The food will be delicious (and not too spicy), but the main benefit will be for us to have fun together as a multi-cultural family.
(Think the Coca Cola Superbowl commercial, but "Catholic"). If you
can't attend, you can still donate to our fund. Make checks out to
"Holy Rosary Church" with a notation for the building fund.
Thanks to the Altar Rosary Society for the contribution of over
$1800 donated from the Tom Books Brunch on Dec 28 for the
restoration of the windows. We now have $6,643 in the window restoration fund, almost enough saved to r estor e some mor e windows. Little by little.
We will be beginning our Spring Marriage Preparation Retreat on
March 6. Deborah Organ (our pastoral associate), Bro. Joe and our
two mentor couples (Jorge and Carmen, and José and Marina) will be
leading the workshop preparing several couples for the Sacrament of
Matrimony. We have a record number of couples in preparation for
the Sacrament: 26!
If you’re planning a celebration of quinceaños, wedding or baptism, it´s a good idea to call the parish office and get started planning
a date. We have already filled up EVERY Saturday from mid-May
through August for weddings and quinceañeras! We continue to
grow!

2014 Catholic Services Appeal

The 2014 Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) is underway. Many of our
parishioners have already received a mailing from the newly established Catholic Services Appeal Foundation requesting your support
of the 2014 Catholic Services Appeal. Please respond generously.
The Appeal funds services that no one parish or individual can support alone. These services must go on despite these troubled times in
our archdiocese. It is important to know that contributions to the
Catholic Services Appeal will be used for the benefit of designated
ministries of the Appeal and for no other purposes. Please visit the

Our Latino community showed
their devotion to the Infant Jesus popular once again with
incredible participation of families. Also this is the day of "The
Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple" and included presentations of some
newborns during the Mass. After Masses we celebrated the
Blessing of Throats with intercession of San Blaise.

DIA DE LA CANDELARIA
Nuestra comunidad Latina mostró su devoción popular al Niño
Jesús una vez mas con una asistencia increíble de familias.
Además este fue el día de "La
Presentación del Niño Jesús en
el Templo" y hubo presentaciones de algunos niños recién
nacidos durante la Misa. También después de las Misas se celebro la Bendición de Gargantas
con la intercesión de San Blas cuyo fiesta es el 3 de febrero.
Maria and Olga Camarillo and Concha Ortiz sewed 700 winter
scarves as part of fundraising project to help women who are breaking free from the slavery of prostitution.
María y Olga Camarillo y Concha Ortiz cosieron 700 bufandas de
invierno como parte del proyecto de recaudación de fondos para
ayudar a las mujeres a liberarse de la esclavitud de la prostitución.
