important notice for parents of students signing up for beginner band

***IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR PARENTS OF STUDENTS SIGNING UP FOR
BEGINNER BAND OR ORCHESTRA FOR 14-15***
The Beginner Band and Orchestra Instrument Drive on May 26th and May 29th will be
organized this year using a lottery system rather than first-come, first-serve. This
process will eliminate the need for parents to arrive early to stand in line. Please
arrive at your child’s designated middle school no earlier than 5:30 P.M. on the
following dates:
May 26th – Brown, Deleon, Lincoln, Travis
May 29th – Cathey, Fossum, Morris
Beginning at 5:45 P.M., each attendee will be distributed an envelope containing a
number. The numbers will be assigned at random. At 6:00 P.M., students will be
called to select their instrument in order of the number they received. Parents and
students will wait for their numbers to be called in an area designated by the campus.

La selección de los instrumentos de banda y orquesta para principiantes se llevará a
cabo el 26 y el 29 de mayo. El orden en el que se atenderá a los presentes estará
basado en una rifa y no en el orden en el que lleguen a la escuela. Este proceso
eliminará que los padres tengan que llegar más temprano de lo necesario a hacer fila.
Por favor llegue a la escuela secundaria asignada a su hijo(a) no antes de las 5:30 P.M.
en las siguientes fechas:
Mayo 26 – Brown, De León, Lincoln, Travis
Mayo 29 – Cathey, Fossum, Morris
Empezando a las 5:45 P.M. se le dará a cada persona que esté presente un sobre con
un número. Los números serán asignados al azar. A las 6:00 P.M. se llamará a los
estudiantes de acuerdo al número que recibieron para que puedan elegir su
instrumento. Tanto los padres como los estudiantes esperarán a que se llame su
número en un área especial designada por la escuela.
