ANNUAL MISSION APPEAL NEXT WEEK
This year, the Diocesan Office of the Propagation
of the Faith has assigned the Missionaries of the
Sacred Heart, MSC, to do a mission appeal here
at Holy Apostles next weekend, July30/31.
Mission Appeal reminds us that the Catholic Church
is universal. The MSC have served in many mission lands since their foundation more than 150
years ago. Please remember them in your prayers, asking God to give them wisdom and courage
in spreading His word and in witnessing to His
loving concern for all people all over the world.

Summer Fest!
Sunday, August 14, is sure to be a fun day
of games for the children, music and of
course, delicious, authentic, homemade
Mexican food! The 12 PM Mass will be
bilingual Spanish/English on that day—so
come for Mass and stay for a day in the sun
on the Holy Apostles grounds. If you are
able to make a donation towards the costs
of the festival, please call the

Part Time Position Available
Holy Apostles is in need of a part-time building maintenance/
housekeeping person.
Duties include general facility maintenance and cleaning,
light plumbing, electrical and carpentry, interior and exterior
painting and drywall, floor finishing including stripping and
waxing and preparing the building for opening and closing.
Qualifications include prior building maintenance experience,
basic understanding of preventive maintenance and carpentry skills, initiative to identify tasks, and the ability to
work with little supervision on a flexible part-time schedule.

Couples celebrating the milestone wedding anniversaries of

Holy Doors Year of Mercy Pilgrimage
Travel with Fr. Rubén to the eight designated Holy
Doors for a Year of Mercy Pilgrimage in a coach bus

McHenry Knights of Columbus Council 1288 invites

A disabled veteran and his wife found themselves in
arrears with their rent due to unexpected medical bills.
Threatened with eviction, they reached out to the St.
Vincent de Paul Society for assistance. Vincentians
helped the couple access some financial assistance
from the county; SVdP then paid the remaining balance
of the overdue rent, filled their car's gas tank and delivered two bags of much needed food. Through their
prayers with Vincentians, this couple expressed their
deep thanks for God's blessings and your generosity.
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you
have faith.” Matthew 21:22

Help with Laundering Needed
Holy Apostles has received a donation of a large number
of tablecloths and napkins. They have been sitting in
boxes for quite some time so they all need to be
washed, folded and identified by size. If you are willing

Four Seasons’ Invitation to Lunch
Four Seasons is Holy Apostles group of age 50-plus men
and women who enjoy socializing, eating and learning
about new things, places and people. They meet monthly

Join Fr. Paul for Catholic Pilgrimage to Italy
Father Paul invites everyone to join him in a trip-of-alifetime to Rome, Florence, Assisi, Isle of Capri and
several other Italian cities that concludes, in Rome, with
an audience with Pope Francis (if he is in residence).
Travel dates are September 25 through October 5, 2017.

Plan Ahead for Christmas in Chicago
Enjoy all the festivities of the city in the Christmas
season on a day trip to downtown Chicago on Saturday,
December 3. Travel on a luxury motor coach bus to shop
Macy’s and view Christmas decorations, have lunch in
the famous Walnut Room, shop the Christkindlmarket,
and end the day with Mass at St. Peter’s Church in the
Loop. The cost is $65.00 per person and includes bus
transportation and lunch at Macy’s Walnut Room. For

Veladora en la Capilla de Adoración
Las veladoras de la capilla de Adoración se prenden
cada 14 días a petición de alguna intención personal.
Si desea solicitar una puede pasar a la oficina de la
iglesia. El costo son $15 dólares. Son encendidas del
17 al 30 de julio a petición de el equipo de Carolyn Benson.
R.I C.A. o Rito de Iniciación Cristiana
Es un proceso para personas que desean conocer más
de la fe profesada en la Iglesia católica, y para los que
desean recibir los Sacramentos de Iniciación, esto es,
Bautismo, Confirmación y Comunión. El programa es
también para los que desean ser aceptados en plena
comunión con la Iglesia Católica o
que deseen convertirse a la Iglesia
Católica. ¿Está usted interesado o
interesada en conocer más acerca de
su fe en Jesucristo? ¿Tiene miembros
de la familia que son católicos o amigos que se han alejado de la fe? Invítelos a ser Católico formando parte
del grupo RICA. Si eres mayor de 18 años y te faltan los
sacramentos del Bautismo, Primera Comunión, Confirmación, este programa es para ti. O si fuiste bautizado
(a) y te falta el sacramento de la Primera Comunión y la
Confirmación, este programa es para ti. Las reuniones
se llevan a cabo cada semana los días martes a las
7:00 p.m. en las instalaciones de la Parroquia de los
Santos Apóstoles. En el Salón Ángeles y Arcángeles
Iniciamos el martes 30 de agosto.
