ST. LEO THE GREAT CHURCH FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA www.stleofairfax.com Dear Friends, “For he who sings praise, does not only praise, but also praises joyfully; he who sings praise, not only sings, but also loves Him for and to whom he is singing.” St. Augus ne I cannot begin to express my gratude to Lorraine Neill our Director of Music and the leaders of our various choirs for all of their dedicaon and service this past year. In sharing their gis and love of music they have truly helped all of us enter more fully into the great mysteries of our faith as we gather to celebrate the sacraments. As we begin the summer in earnest our choirs will take some well deserved me off returning in September. Unfortunately Ma% Anderson who has been our organist the past couple of years will be leaving us shortly to move to Boston. He will be sorely missed. He has been a joy not only to listen to but to work with. We wish him all the best. Carter Stevens will soon be joining us as parish organist. Again thanks to all! +++++ This month thirteen of our servers have graduated from high school and are beginning to move on to the next phase of their lives: Marco DeGuzman, Anthony DeSans, James Hogan, Nicholas Lellock, Seamus Lowry, Patrick Maribojoc, Vincent McGonigle, Emmanuel Meneses, Sean Moran, Manuel Sebasan, Warren Smith, and Carlo Tirso. Father Baez and I express our deep gratude for your faithful service. It is certainly our prayer that the pa%ern of service to the Lord you have so consistently lived out over these years has prepared you to hear and respond to God’s plan for you in life as you move forward. +++++ The feast day of St. Jose Maria Escriva is celebrated this Wednesday June 26. All are invited to the Guadelupe room following the 9 AM Mass to view a short film about his life and the work of the society he founded – Opus Dei. Focusing on the universal call to holiness given to all the bapzed faithful, St. Jose Maria truly ancipated the teachings of the Second Vacan Council. In Christ, Rev. David A.
