Mass for Life
Archdiocesan Mass for Life
Saturday, January 9
Join Archbishop Blase J. Cupich and priests from across
the Archdiocese of Chicago for the Holy Sacrifice of the
Mass as we petition the Lord to transform our society from
a culture of death into a culture of life. The Archdiocesan
Mass for Life will be celebrated at St. Cletus Parish, 600
West 55th Street in La Grange, on
Saturday, January 9, at 5 p.m.
At this Mass, we will remember the innocent
children lost and the women, men and families hurt through
abortion as we reflect on the 43rd anniversary of
Roe v. Wade.

Retirement Fund for the Religious
Dear Father and Parish Staff,
Pope Francis declared that the Year of Consecrated Life
be celebrated throughout the world from
November 29, 2014, through February 2, 2016.
During this special year for religious, please join me in
supporting the upcoming appeal for the Retirement Fund
for Religious. We have all witnessed the selfless
dedication of religious serving in our parishes,
schools, hospitals, and numerous areas of ministry during
our lifetime. In our often troubled world, they remain a
visible sign of Christ’s love.
As I ask your support of this appeal, I invite you to think
of it not only in terms of a matter of justice to care for their
needs, but as an act of solidarity with them, letting them
know that our appreciation for their witness is so strong
that it prompts a desire to join them in their unique
contribution to the life of the Church and society. Please
share this message with your parishioners in a way you
consider most effective, either from the pulpit or in your
parish bulletin.
The collection is scheduled to be taken at all Masses on
December 12 and 13, 2015. This letter gives me the
opportunity to thank you for the many ways you as pastor
and the parish staff witness to the Gospel by your service
to the people under your pastoral care. Please express to
your parish family my heartfelt best wishes.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Blase J. Cupich
Archbishop of Chicago

Pope Francis has invited young people to come and participate
with thousands of youth from all over the world in the World
Youth Day held in Cracow, Poland in 2016.
Seven young people from our Parish Family have responded to
this invitation and will represent us in this life changing event.
They are determined to work and raise money that is needed
to make true their dream of being part of the youth gathering
with the Holy Father. In order to do this, candy and bakery are
being sold.
But in addition, plans for "Soup Nights” “Pancake Breakfasts”,
"Fish Frys", etc are in the works. Details to follow.
If anyone is willing to volunteer in these fund-raising events
please contact Sr. M. Eliana.
Please pray for these young people who will have the special
blessing of attending the meeting with the Holy Father.

After Thanksgiving and as the Advent Season begins we take time to reflect on the
many blessings we have received personally and as a family and we start to focus on
preparing for the Coming of our Savior. What better way to prepare by sharing your
blessings with those who are less fortunate. Like so many in our country, many families
in our parish cannot provide their children a Christmas gift because of economic
hardships or the parent’s loss of a job. The St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Turibius
will once again sponsor a Giving Tree to help share Christ’s love for children in need. At
the front of the Church, there will be a Christmas tree decorated with tags listing a child
in need. Please return the gift in a gift bag under the tree with the original Christmas
tree tag attached to the gift no later than the weekend of December 13. All gifts should
be new and unopened and the value of the gift should be $25.00.
Please only take a tag if you are intending to buy a gift!!
If you are unable to shop and wish to purchase a gift certificate for a needy child or to
make a financial donation you may drop these off in the Rectory or Sunday Collection in
an envelope NEEDY CHILDREN CHRISTMAS DONATION and we will make sure that
the money is used for a needy child.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping to share the love of Jesus this Christmas
for children in need.

Parish Mission Statement
We Believe that God is Love, and when we
live in love we live in God and God lives in
us! Therefore we, the Parish Family of Saint
Turibius, dedicate ourselves to living out
Christ’s Great Commandment: we will love
the Lord our God with all our heart, with all
our soul, with all our mind, and with all our
strength, and we will show our love for God
by the way we love and care for one another.
To this end, we will respond to our baptismal
call, strengthened by the life, death and
resurrection of Jesus Christ and empowered by
the Holy Spirit. As a Family of Faith that has
an Attitude of Gratitude for the gifts God has
given to us, we will share our time, our talent
and our treasure with each other. We welcome
into our parish family all people, because we
believe that together we are the Body of Christ
and together we can bring the love, peace,
forgiveness, healing, and joy of Christ into our
community in ways we never could have if we
were to remain apart. May all who meet us,
who worship with us, who work and play with
us, know we are Christians by our love!
