Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It is with much joy and anticipation that I invite all of you to join me to welcome the
beginning of the Jubilee of Mercy. The Jubilee of Mercy, proclaimed by Pope Francis
begins on December 8, 2015 and concludes with the feast of Christ the King on
November 20, 2016.
The Jubilee of Mercy is a graced opportunity for all of us to
appreciate more deeply how the mercy of God has taken hold of our lives and, at the same
time, how we can bring that mercy into the world though our own actions and the way we
live our lives. The Jubilee of Mercy will be celebrated in the Archdiocese of Chicago with a
full schedule of events and array of resources. Among these are:
* The commencement of the Jubilee with the opening of the Holy Door on Sunday,
December 13 at Holy Name Cathedral.
[email protected]
(773) 581-2730 ext. 17
* The designation of 32 pilgrimage sites throughout the Archdiocese, where the
faithful can receive indulgences.
*A special weekly resource, One Word at a Time, developed for parishes and individuals to
help put merciful actions into practice is now available in English, Spanish and Polish.
*Stories related to the Jubilee of Mercy will appear regularly in our Archdiocesan
newspapers, the Catholic New World and Chicago Católico.
* A monthly video segment, “Mercy Moments,” will highlight testimonials from individuals
and how they experienced or encountered God’s mercy.
* Fr. Louis Cameli’s newest book, Rejoicing in Mercy: A Prayer Commentary on the
Gospel of Luke.

These, and many more resources, will be available on the Office for the New
Evangelization website: www.jubileemercy.org. Please look for Jubilee of Mercy updates
on the Archdiocesan website as well as your parish bulletin. Let us call to mind the words
of Pope Francis at this time: “In this Jubilee Year, may the Church echo the word of God
that resounds strongly and clearly as a message and a sign of pardon, strength, aid, and
love.
May she never tire of extending mercy, and be ever patient in offering compassion and
comfort. May the Church become the voice of every man and woman, and repeat
confidently without end:
‘Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love, for they have
been from of old’”.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Archbishop Blase J. Cupich

periódicos de la Arquidiócesis, Catholic New World y Chicago Católico.
* El nuevo libro del padre Louis Cameli, Rejoicing in Mercy: A Prayer Commentary on the
Gospel of Luke.
y repita con confianza y sin descanso: ‘Acuérdate, Señor, de tu misericordia y de tu amor;
que son eternos’”.
Sinceramente suyo en Cristo,
Reverendísimo Blase J. Cupich

Z ogromną radością pragnę zaprosić Was do towarzyszenia mi i uczestnictwa w rozpoczęciu
Jest też okazją do tego, by odkrywać, w jaki sposób my sami możemy nieść światu
* Inspirowanie cotygodniowym „Jednym słowem do przemyślenia” dostępnym w języku
angielskim, hiszpańskim i polskim, a przygotowanym dla parafii i osób prywatnych, by
pomagać wcielać w życie działania przepełnione miłosierdziem.
* Regularne publikowanie w naszych czasopismach archidiecezjalnych Catholic New World i
* Broszura „Zaadoptować dzieła miłosierdzia” wzywająca wszystkich wierzących do
Nowej Ewangelizacji: www.jubileemercy.org.
ofiarowaniem miłosierdzia i niech będzie zawsze cierpliwy w umacnianiu i przebaczaniu.
Szczerze oddany Wam w Chrystusie,

ST. ANNE’S CHRISTMAS PARTY
“It’s Not The Things You Do At Christmas Time But The Christmas
Things You Do All Year Through”
The St. Anne’s Society will be holding its Christmas Party
Celebration on Monday, December 7th at 6:00 PM in Fr. Lechert
Hall. We will be serving a delicious Christmas dinner. The cost for
our dinner is $12.00 per person. The money may be dropped off
at the rectory. Please put your name on the envelope and mark
it “St. Anne’s Christmas Party.” For those who will be paying at
the door on the day of the party, please call Geri Biel on her cell
phone (773-520-6733) and let her know that you will be coming
so we can place our order in advance. Call this number also if you
need a ride.
This year instead of having a grab bag, we decided at our last meeting to help the St. Vincent de Paul Society with their
Christmas hand out. We are asking that you make a monetary
donation. Put your donation in an envelope and mark it :
“St. Vincent De Paul Christmas Christmas Hand – Out”
If you are giving a check, please make the check out to:
“St. Vincent De Paul Society”
Let us share the Christmas spirit with those who may have less
than we have.
Mark the date on your calendars, DECEMBER 7th, at 6:00 PM
in Fr. Lechert Hall. So come one and all and bring a friend as
we celebrate Christmas with our St. Anne’s members and help to
make our early Christmas celebration a little more enjoyable for
all. Remember, when you are not there, you are missed.

Pope Francis has invited young people to come and participate
with thousands of youth from all over the world in the World
Youth Day held in Cracow, Poland in 2016.
Seven young people from our Parish Family have responded to
this invitation and will represent us in this life changing event.
They are determined to work and raise money that is needed
to make true their dream of being part of the youth gathering
with the Holy Father. In order to do this, candy and bakery are
being sold.
But in addition, plans for "Soup Nights” “Pancake Breakfasts”,
"Fish Frys", etc are in the works. Details to follow.
If anyone is willing to volunteer in these fund-raising events
please contact Sr. M. Eliana.
Please pray for these young people who will have the special
blessing of attending the meeting with the Holy Father.

about the Attacks in Paris
November 15, 2015
On behalf of the Catholic community in Chicago I want to
express deep sadness at the depraved taking of innocent
life this week in Paris. We will continue to pray for the
victims, their loved ones and all who are sickened in heart
and spirit by this latest outrage.
It is worthy of note that those who sought to kill and
terrorize have prompted by their cowardice a brave new
commitment to the spirit of liberty, equality and fraternity
that mark the French nation.
Parisians comforted the wounded and grief stricken,
opened their homes to the displaced and stranded and
stood in lines to donate their blood to replace that spilled
by the terrorists.
This attack is a sin and a crime against humanity. Let it not
divide but call the citizens of the world to prayerful solidarity
with the people of France and with all those who yearn for
peace.
We are all God’s Family!
Somos todos los familiares de Dios!
Wszyscy jesteśmy rodzina Boga!

After Thanksgiving and as the Advent Season begins we take time to reflect on the
many blessings we have received personally and as a family and we start to focus on
preparing for the Coming of our Savior. What better way to prepare by sharing your
blessings with those who are less fortunate. Like so many in our country, many families
in our parish cannot provide their children a Christmas gift because of economic
hardships or the parent’s loss of a job. The St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Turibius
will once again sponsor a Giving Tree to help share Christ’s love for children in need. At
the front of the Church, there will be a Christmas tree decorated with tags listing a child
in need. Please return the gift in a gift bag under the tree with the original Christmas
tree tag attached to the gift no later than the weekend of December 13. All gifts should
be new and unopened and the value of the gift should be $25.00.
Please only take a tag if you are intending to buy a gift!!
If you are unable to shop and wish to purchase a gift certificate for a needy child or to
make a financial donation you may drop these off in the Rectory or Sunday Collection in
an envelope NEEDY CHILDREN CHRISTMAS DONATION and we will make sure that
the money is used for a needy child.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping to share the love of Jesus this Christmas
for children in need.

Parish Mission Statement
We Believe that God is Love, and when we
live in love we live in God and God lives in
us! Therefore we, the Parish Family of Saint
Turibius, dedicate ourselves to living out
Christ’s Great Commandment: we will love
the Lord our God with all our heart, with all
our soul, with all our mind, and with all our
strength, and we will show our love for God
by the way we love and care for one another.
To this end, we will respond to our baptismal
call, strengthened by the life, death and
resurrection of Jesus Christ and empowered by
the Holy Spirit. As a Family of Faith that has
an Attitude of Gratitude for the gifts God has
given to us, we will share our time, our talent
and our treasure with each other. We welcome
into our parish family all people, because we
believe that together we are the Body of Christ
and together we can bring the love, peace,
forgiveness, healing, and joy of Christ into our
community in ways we never could have if we
were to remain apart. May all who meet us,
who worship with us, who work and play with
us, know we are Christians by our love!
